We got hit with a line of thunderstorms this morning -- I woke up just in time to see the sky open and the lightning start. There was steady and at times torrential rain on the bus ride up, and I had to almost sprint to keep from getting too wet on my way to work, even with an umbrella.

And then, by noontime, it had all broken up and the sun had come out. Leaving me stuck in a pair of rather warm pants and rather hot boots on a rather muggy day. *bleh* Well, you have to prep for the worst part of the day, and things weren't expected to improve that early. And I'd rather be a little warm than a little cold. (Not to mention I was inside with air conditioning most of the time, that helped.)

The actual work part of the day went along pretty well. Most of the morning was spent filling out the last few forms necessary to make me an actual employee, and then the rest of the day was largely reading a PDF training manual for the software I'll be working on. With breaks to help my replacement get settled into what he's doing now. So quiet, but I guess productive nonetheless. I imagine it'll get busier once I start doing actual work with the program, but I think I can handle it. :P

Mom update: she's already on her feet a bit more (with crutches of course). Hoping this is a good sign!

Not much else to say -- just finished up tumblr queues, so that's good. Time to finish up a thing or two and hit the sheets. Night all!
