Summer Won't End
Sep. 8th, 2015 10:50 pmWell, it technically doesn't end until the 23rd anyway, but you know what I mean. It was actually hotter today than it was at the start of Labor Day weekend. Tomorrow's supposed to be pretty warm too, then Thursday and Friday it's supposed to cool off with potential thunderstorms and rain. We'll see if they actually arrive -- weatherman's been pretty hit-and-miss when it comes to predicting those this season. As it is, I'll be leaving the air conditioner in the window for a while longer.
Not too much to report on this post-Backie day -- work was very quiet, what with my supervisor out on vacation this week. Not much to do but the usual stuff. I did get a scare pre-work, though, when I first went to the bathroom -- there was a HUGE spider in the bathtub. Like one of those little jumping spiders, except at least four times the size. I was naturally kind of freaked out, but I couldn't do much about it at the time -- I had to get to work, my parents weren't home (they went to an antiques fair today), and it seemed he couldn't figure out how to climb out of the tub. So I figured I'd either vacuum him up when I got home or have my parents take care of it. Turned out to be the latter -- Mom rediscovered him hiding under the bath mat and crushed and flushed him. Very glad she did, because if I'd found him again trying to take my shower, those of you who live on the opposite coast would have heard the scream.
In less "make my skin crawl" news, did a final editing pass on Chapter 17 -- both it and Card Castles should be ready to go! And I've got the perfect opportunity to put them up too -- somebody suggested we do a one-day boycott of tumblr tomorrow to protest the new update. I don't think it'll actually convince the staff to reverse things (though they should -- you know how LJ's new color scheme literally hurt people's eyes? tumblr's new reblogging look makes it damn near impossible for dyslexics and others to read it), but it's nice to show solidarity -- and I can use the time very effectively to squabble with Weebly's html editor. So go no tumblr day! (Though I won't know what to do with myself in the morning. . .webcomics?)
Anyway -- I need to finish up my "fake" queue (I'm scheduling all my RP replies tonight to post on Thursday), then answer DW stuff and hit the sheets. Night all!
