Snowpocalypse Pretty Much Averted
Jan. 23rd, 2016 10:50 pmAt least over here -- from the reports, New York got clobbered, and coastal New Jersey got kind of eaten by the storm surges. But Washington only got like 3 inches or so, and we're at about the five-inch mark here. It's gusty and cold and all that fun stuff, but it's not like the storms of last year by a long shot. I appreciate this muchly.
Been kind of a lazy day -- Mom got home early, so I had lunch with her and Dad while we watched the Weather Channel to keep abreast of things. Wrote more on "Remembering You" (Victor's consultation is being restructured to hell and back), caught up with the "Not Always" sites, hatched my Eridanian dragon (I finally got one! His name's Quasar) and watched the Critic's Top 11 Funniest Shyamalan Moments. Which is another "the top moment is actually a lead-in to a proper review," but at least this time he actually put it on the countdown itself. I was getting kind of tired of him just skipping the number entirely. And it's a review I can look forward to: Lady in the Water, which I haven't heard that much about! Other than it's bad and one character has a fairly hilarious death scene. So yeah, hooray for that.
Also played Sims 4 -- and after getting excited about visiting the Detective career for the first time, I ended up visiting Eric and Nikal on a Saturday, which is both their days off. Meh. I ended up taking them out to the Avarice Pool and Lounge instead, where they had some fun swimming and ordering way too many drinks. :P At least I succeeded at getting them out of the house. . .I also suspect their update may end up being combined with Geeker's, because he's a single sim with a non-active career, and if he goes to work when I next play him. . .well, we'll see what happens. Might still be able to get something out of his round.
Updates on Nebby's Modern AU (what I call Adventures in Babysitting): Modernized versions of the parents (Don't Arthur and Lorina look adorable?) and Lizzie and Emily being BFFs. There is also plot -- the parents all went to the same high school, and Lizzie and Emily are looking after the little ones because it's the night of the reunion. Fun times. :)
