crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Getting Up This Morning: Oh hey, it's really raining out there! Then again, the weatherpeople said we'd be getting snow, so I'll definitely take rain over this. (How could it even snow anyway, it's been like 50+ for the past couple of days. . .

Ride In: Oh. . .that's definitely snow. Icky, wet, slushy snow. Blaaah. At least I'll be inside most of the day.

At Work: Okay, wow, it's quiet. Then again, maybe everyone else is having a hard ride in -- wait, there's no one downstairs to let in my temp coworker? What gives?

School Office Lady: (whom I see while walking with said temporary coworker to check in) Oh, the building is closed today!

Me: SAY FUCKING WHAT

Yup, thanks to the fact that the initial "oh hey we're having a delay because of snow" and the subsequent "oh hey we're just going to go ahead and close the building" e-mails came in at 11:00 PM yesterday and 8:06 AM today, on my work e-mail (which I don't check at home and am not entirely sure I could anyway), and me not realizing my coworkers had texted me alerting me to this fact until too late thanks to having a crappy flip phone I'd put on silent/buzz to stop wrong numbers bothering everyone at work, I CAME IN ON A DAY I HAD OFF. I was literally seething when I found out. I will allow that not knowing was a good chunk my fault (the text messaging thing -- Mom's convinced me to set up messaging on my iPad, since I always check that first thing in the morning), but that bit about not letting anyone know about the delay until 11 PM, and over the WORK E-MAIL? That's just shit.

So I ended up slogging my way to Kennedy Plaza (soaking my feet in the process -- I was wearing boots, but they unfortunately proved to be not waterproof) and got the 66 home at 9:45. Got home around 11 -- happily, by then most of my anger had burned out (helped by some Terry Pratchett goodness), and I was able to enjoy the rest of my day off. Mom got home early from work too (she only works til about 11 on Fridays anyway), and we all had lunch together and watched QI. After that, I wrote a good chunk on "Remembering You" -- Nell and William have reentered the scene, and not made a good first (second?) impression on their son. And then it was Sims 4 time, where Victor and Alice visited Wonderland Park, and I discovered the place, for all its beauty -- doesn't have a working bathroom. Luckily there was a side area with public toilets for them to use, but that's something I'll have to try and fix before sending anyone else there. Add in getting a chance to mess around on TV Tropes and Mom making chocolate-chip cookie squares, and I have to say -- despite a poor beginning, today was a nice day.

And now, of course, I'm doing the RP thing, so I'd better get back to that. I'll leave you with the second part to Nebby's CinderVictor AU to amuse yourselves. Night all!
