Not Busy At All Friday
Mar. 4th, 2016 10:59 pmYeah -- to my surprise, the flood of "whee everything is happening at once" dried up today. There weren't even a lot of phone calls. Of course, this meant the day ended up dragging a bit instead of going too fast for my liking. . .and there was still irritation with a new persistent error on the imports -- new people giving gifts that they aren't giving us the information for so we can put them on our system. It's happened twice now, and it's starting to really annoy me. *grumbles*
There were a couple of nice things about the workday though: there was an Employee Appreciation Breakfast this morning, so we all went down and got some food. None of the baked goods appealed to me, so I just had some fruit -- yummy. And, at lunch, I found a little pail of leftover cookies from somebody's meeting yesterday -- including one studded all over with mini M&Ms. I immediately claimed that as my afternoon snack, and was incredibly pleased to discover it was chocolate chip on top of everything! So bad, and yet so so good.
Other notes of the day:
-->I finished the first "Tiffany Aching" book of Sir Pterry's, The Wee Free Men. I already like Tiff a lot -- she's the kind of kid who will read the dictionary cover to cover simply because no one ever told her not to. She also hates distressed damsels and will smack a monster in the face with a frying pan. She reminds me rather of book-Coraline, only a little less creepy -- and a bit of Alice too, especially when I saw some illustrations for it with her in her blue dress and apron. The Nac Mac Feegle are still hilarious, and the climax! Awesome. :D I'm already looking forward to the next one.
-->I also got the 5th BTTF comic, which is all from Clara's perspective and a sum-up of her life. It's a good read, and it's great to see Clara being all adventurey and intelligent and basically being more or less made for Doc. :)
( Spoooilers )
Additional non-spoilery annoyance -- my comic arrived with a rip in the cover! Going to have to e-mail BTTF.com about that. >(
-->Loaded up DragonVale, and got a pop-up declaring it Kairos's birthday! "Oh, that's cute," I thought --
And then the game loaded and it turns out it's kind of a weekend mini-event! There's a special "confetti" weather, almost all game timers have been reduced by 25%, there's a free decoration (an hourglass-shaped thing, appropriately), apparently you can use Kairos once per day while this lasts (usually there's a cooldown period of four days between uses), there's four presents hidden around the park which give gems (reused from the Frostival -- white, red, and blue give one gem each, while the purple one gives FIVE) -- and Kairos's perch is decorated with streamers and balloons, while Kairos himself sports a party hat. XD. Best part? This is technically the OPPOSITE of the guy's birthday -- he was released in OCTOBER, according to comments on the Wiki. They're justifying it with "a dragon who exists outside time and space can have his birthday whenever he likes." XD Hey, anything that gives me free goodies is something I can get behind!
And now to do tumblr queues, because -- thanks to the busy week PLUS my brain consistently waking me up early pretty much every night this week -- I'm just too tired for active RPing. Night all, sleep tight!
