Suddenly Shortened Week
Apr. 11th, 2016 11:07 pmTalk about vacations this morning led to me requesting that I have this Friday off -- and getting it, woohoo! Actually, my supervisor was encouraging me to use some personal/vacation time, since I haven't done so yet. . . I would have liked to, but everybody else seems to have something going on (example: somebody's gonna be a grandma soon), and I didn't want to leave anyone high and dry. Taking off this Friday for sanity reasons seems good, though. . .and I have plans for a full week off in June. Not planning on any big trips or anything, just maybe a mini one or two (Mom's already mentioned a mini-golf-tour we could do once the weather is nicer). I was debating about a mall trip, but Mom gets home early on Friday, so it's looking like we might do something all together instead. I'm up for it -- would be nice to have something special to do.
Anyway, work was busy as usual -- part of the reason for the "sanity day," honestly. Ride home was smooth, though, which I appreciated. And the weather was halfway decent -- high 50s! Only halfway, though, because it was windy as hell as well. Still got out for a short walk, though, which helped clear my head. I'm really hoping this means we've turned the corner in April and we're finally getting proper warm coming.
Another page done on "Remembering You" -- it's all over but the piano playing now. Literally, the fic ends with Victor playing piano. I felt it appropriate. Still a little bit until we get there, but it's likely this is going to be the shortest chapter. Mostly because it's kind of just "Victor's cured and everybody's happy." Of course, a bit of reality is going to set in once "Fixing You" comes along. . .but that's after the holidays for them. I figured they should have a nice Christmas, if nothing else.
In DragonVale, it seems that when I give up, my luck turns to gold -- after buying a bunch of decorations I wanted so I could get the Swallowtail and at least have three of the new dragons, I promptly managed to breed a Lacewing and a Duskwing. Right in the final hours of the event too! Go me. Of course, there's already something new on the way. . .but at least I can say I've successfully conquered the eggs. I even got a Chrysalis Island theme, just for funsies. Really need to start rearranging my dragons and habitats here. . .
