Early Dismissal, Not So Early Arrival
Jun. 7th, 2016 10:45 pmMainly because the bus ended up:
-->Picking up two guys in wheelchairs, which necessitates a bit of a pause as the ramp is engaged and the seats in front pushed up so they can sit
-->Having to help one guy when he fell out of his wheelchair when he scooted off (apparently he zipped out so fast he went flying; fortunately he wasn't full-on "couldn't walk," just mobility problems, so getting him back in was pretty easy)
-->Picking up a bunch of ladies at the train station with bags upon bags of food -- who apparently were going to Block Island? I overheard something about catching the high-speed ferry. . . Sheesh, if that place has no grocery stores (or just super-expensive ones), I wouldn't want to live there
-->Running into inexplicable heavy traffic between the Amtrak station and URI -- I suspect it was beach-related, but who knows for sure?
For all that, though (plus getting off a couple of stops early to enjoy a walk in the sunshine -- got WELL up into the 80s today), I still got home about a hour early! Plenty of time to write, edit some pictures, queue a bunch of stuff up on tumblr, play DragonVale, and all that other good stuff. Plus have a nice dinner and get all our vacation plans more or less finalized. We're planning on heading to Hershey Park Monday-Wednesday of next week, then Cape Cod on Friday. :D Promises to be an adventure! Now we just have to hope the weather forecast stays good. . .
Not much else to say, and I probably should take advantage of a rare opportunity (for me) to get a little more sleep. Night all! T-minus 3 days to go until my week off!
