All Over The Place Friday
Aug. 19th, 2016 11:35 pm-->Morning Commute: Bus driver seems new to the route, but his shirt number indicates he was just ferrying me home the other day?? Got us to Providence safely and on time though
-->Work: Bunch of boring -- but lunch break reveals BTTF IDW Comic 11 is out! Since I've been catching up with the Continuum Conundrum arc this week and that's the last of that one, I decide to alter my planned schedule of "take bus home; go to bank to get actual paper cash; hit ice cream shop" to include a stop at Providence Place's Newbury's. Figure I'll just take the 1:55 bus home -- parents will be at beach, right?
-->Mall: Newbury's does not have new comic -- but they do have the "Return to 1955" Minimates set, come on Vic you haven't even got the 1885 ones onto your shelf yet -- OMG IT HAS COPERNICUS IN HIS LITTLE MINING HAT HOW DO I PASS THAT UP
-->Bus Home: Finish up the bits of Continuum Conundrum I do have -- good stuff, with nice Marty/Doc dynamics, Marty struggling with how he misses the adventure of time traveling, Jennifer being awesome, 2035 slang constantly reminding me of one certain joke from Atop The Fourth Wall's 2099 comics month (Sewing Machine!), and flamethrowers. Suddenly, when hitting Narragansett, get call from parents -- they are NOT at beach! O.o Turns out they only went up for a swim. Plans are made for me to be picked up, and when I am, they say they're going to Best Buy to get Mom a computer -- do I want to come along and check out the Warwick Newbury's? Yeah, okay, they're usually the best place to get the comic. . .
-->Home: Weird "argument" between Mom and Dad means we're not going on the trip -- I do manage to make it to the bank to get my paper money, and we pick up more ice cream while we're out. And then Mom and Dad start talking again about the computer and the trip is back on for AFTER supper. I manage to squeeze in some writing between (group is in Elder Gutknecht's tower now), along with DragonVale (which is crash-happy AND nearly restarts my park on me -- fortunately I was able to avoid that fate!) and Fruit Ninja (behaves itself).
-->Warwick: Hit Newbury's first -- yes, they do have the comic I'm looking for! Pay for that, then parents go over to Best Buy for the computer while I look in Savers for a new pocketbook. Manage to find something nice for five bucks and go over to Best Buy to find the computer being bought. Everything is settled and we head back home. I read my comic on the way -- action gets completely and utterly insane, there's a callback to one of the "Alternate Histories/Untold Tales" comics, Jennifer is even more awesome, Marty maybe gets a little reminder that adventure is good and all but there's something to be said for ordinary life too, and everything ends happily without a paradox. Am slightly sad that Marty does not get to meet Clara, Jules, and Verne, but hopefully that's in a future comic.
-->Home Part II: Get settled in again, hit Sims 4 to see something about an unowned shop -- nope, I can't set the clothes the mannequins wear. Stick a couple of dressers in a back room to see if that'll help me at least fake buying clothes outside the lot for Alice and Victor when I play their household (I'm planning on them getting their wedding outfits this update, and having them go to a store is more interesting than just buying them through the dresser at home). We'll see how it goes. Then it's online to catch up with stuff, and reblog something quick because it's Linkara's birthday today! How about that. :)
So -- yeah. Not the best day in the world, but I'm up a comic, some minimates, and a new pocketbook, plus I got in that bank trip I wanted. No special ice cream treat, though (unless you count buying some on sale at the grocery store). I swear to GOD I'm getting a milkshake or something tomorrow before I lose my mind.
Right now, though, I'm gonna catch up on my personal tumblr and then probably chat with a friend -- night all!
