Happy Friday Afternoon
Aug. 26th, 2016 11:24 pmMorning was pretty boring -- working on maintenance, mostly, doing a lot of merges and getting frustrated over whether or not someone is the single version of someone else who's married. . .meh. But I got out on time, got home at a decent hour, and:
-->Wrote a couple of pages on Chapter 11 of "In The Land Of The Dead" -- Bonejangles has met his mom, and they are now retiring to a quiet corner of the bar with the Liddells to chat
-->Played a chunk of Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines -- Harold the Gangrel has successfully completed all of the Voerman sisters' quests (though he died once to the thugs in the Surfside Diner), and he managed to persuade them to work together, netting the Humanity bonus and extra experience. I left him outside the Sabbat warehouse after meeting up with Bertram. Dunno how well setting those explosives is going to go, but we'll make the best of it. At the very least, Harry gets to meet Beckett at the end of it! I luv Beckett, he's so snarky~
And then it was largely just catching up on things and hanging out on the web. Hit TV Tropes because I remembered I hadn't looked at the page for Wintersmith yet -- and I never mentioned I finished that book, did I? I was rather caught up in getting all settled in with all the BTTF comics. . .but yeah, I finished that last week. Good book, though I find myself getting annoyed with the representation of Summer not because she's a bad character, but because I don't want my favorite season to be so bitchy. Hmph. But like I said, it was good -- Tiffany's always fun to read about, and I really like Roland coming into his own. :) And the Nac Mac Feegle are always fun -- plus we got to meet the goddess Anoia, She of the Things Stuck In Drawers! :D Moist Von Lipwig's favorite goddess~ Who smokes like a chimney, which makes me wonder if that one theory about Adora Belle Dearheart being some sort of mortal representation of her has any truth to it. :P Currently in I Shall Wear Midnight, which is already pretty fascinating. And there's hints that we're going to get to see a character we haven't seen in aaaaages. . . Although MAN these books are getting darker and darker fast -- and Tiffany's not even sixteen yet! Cripes, Pratchett. . .
Anyway, just nice to have an afternoon without tons of running around. Tomorrow looks to be hot, possibly humid -- summer's last hurrah in the last days of August. I'll take it. Might even get myself another ice cream if I'm in the mood. Always meant to try one of Brickley's waffle cones. . . We'll see, though. Right now, I've got a queue to build on Butterfly Boy -- night all!
