Another Day Without Much To Say
Oct. 4th, 2016 11:08 pmWork was basically "fill in all these e-mail addresses here" with a short break for GL. At least I'm pretty much done with this darn school CAP database. Though I don't expect tomorrow to be much more exciting -- I have direct debits, but otherwise going to be largely a maintenance day. Still, it'll be something a little different.
Driving lesson went well enough -- I'm doing better with staying in my "lane" and turning. Parking's still tricky -- I'm getting better at staying between the lines, it's getting into ONE space on the first go that's hard. It's tough to line up things that you can't really see!
Got home a bit late, which meant a later supper, so I didn't have much time for writing -- but I smacked out a little over 400 words, so that's something. Just a scene of Bumby realizing he's dead -- decided it didn't make sense for him to spend a good chunk of the chapter not understanding he's in the Land of the Dead, so that's being changed in the rewrite. He's still going to be stunned to see Bonejangles, though -- after all, that skeleton's not supposed to be in London!
Caught up on tumblr, did Weyr Wednesday queue and Forgotten Vows queue over there. Usual Tuesday night stuff.
Oh, and I finished I Shall Wear Midnight the other day! I did enjoy it for the most part -- the plot itself was interesting, and we got to see an old friend from WAY back near the beginning of the series -- but. . .well, Terry sunk my ship and I'm not happy about it. I'm particularly not happy that it was done more or less off-screen (the book focuses a lot on the aftermath), and I'm especially not happy that something happened to Roland that he explicitly said in an earlier book was the worst thing he could imagine happening to someone. Let me put it this way -- neither Clockwork Doc nor Forgotten Vows are that fond of the Feegles' kelda anymore. Maybe it wouldn't sting so much if I hadn't read it just after Wintersmith, which featured some really cute stuff with Tiffany and Roland, but. . . *sigh*
And now I'm going to catch up on my final comments and go to bed. Night all!
