Happy Thanksgiving!
Nov. 24th, 2016 11:34 pmWe kinda had two dinners -- the "official" one at lunchtime, and leftovers for dinner. Turkey, gravy, potato rolls, mashed sweet potatoes, and green beans -- yummy. Plus brownies and ice cream for dessert. :) Nothing too special, but it's the first time in over a decade we've had a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal, so it was nice. Plus this means we have lots of delicious turkey leftovers, including Mom's famous turkey soup. :D
Also nice -- getting everything on my to-do list done! Let's see:
-->Edited some more of Chapter 6 -- one of the funnier bits, or at least I hope so. :) This fic does tend toward the dark at places, so it's good to have an amusing moment now and then.
-->Had my driving lesson after lunch -- Mom let me pick where to go, so I headed up some side streets we haven't driven before. Ended up going on the highway twice, and even made a U-turn on it! Went well -- streets were pretty deserted, which was nice. I'm still getting used to driving in lots of traffic. But I think I'm doing better with keeping the speed up and not feeling so tense.
-->Played Vampire afterward, though with a quick trip back to Helloween's original Tremere LP to see just how to sneak past the cameras. Which -- didn't help as much as I would have liked, as I still got caught by one. And when the guard found me, I basically went "SCREW IT" and axed the guy. Cost me a couple of experience points (you get 3 XP instead of 1 if you manage to avoid killing any guards), but I just wanted that section OVER WITH. Got Pisha's statue (which I traded for the Odious Chalice later), discovered the theft of the sarcophagus, and chatted with Beckett for fun and stat-raising (if you chat with him and theorize about why vampires exist, you get a boost to Scholarship). Then it was time to report back to Lacroix and get the Hollywood hub opened up. Though I haven't actually visited yet -- I decided instead to grab some cash from Venus at Confession, then headed to Santa Monica to catch up with Mercurio (and grab myself a nice new gun). Saturday I'll start Hollywood proper (with its awesome background music :D).
-->Watched Linkara -- today's secret origin was that of Hawkeye! Who was kind of a jealous jerk in his first appearance. He and Black Widow teamed up to take down Iron Man -- didn't work, but not what you'd expect from two future Avengers members, eh? Still, it was a fun ride -- love Linkara's drunk Tony voice. XD
-->Watched the Thanksgiving Fun With Shorts -- bad animated adaptation of a bad radio show. Really want to know where Josh finds this dreck. Still, he made it funny, and that's all that matters. :)
Not much else to say about the day, really. Got the Harvest Moon dragon in DragonVale (first try -- and it's a twin, no less, since it was via the Co-op Cave), and lost rather a lot of time to TV Tropes (was looking up Terry Pratchett books, ended up in Early Installment Weirdness). Doing a little late RPing at the moment. And as that's about it, I'll get back to that -- night all!
