Adventures In Jamestown
Dec. 4th, 2016 11:09 pmAKA today's driving lesson was going over the Jamestown bridge and through said town of James. It went well for the most part -- the bridge itself wasn't difficult, just a big hill over water. Mom told me she knew a lot of people who just wouldn't go over it, but I don't see what the big deal is. I had one scary moment where I started taking a turn too fast, and then briefly hit the gas trying to slow down -- fortunately nothing happened and I got back on track pretty quickly, but it wasn't pleasant. I'm getting a little sick of "one kinda nasty mistake happens every time you try driving." I know I'm still new at this, but darn it. . . But I've been told by both parents that I'm doing incredibly well regardless, so that's something.
Rest of the day was spent:
-->Writing more on Chapter 7 of "Remembering You" -- Dickenson lives up to the first part of his name. Fortunately he's sent packing by a furious Victor threatening to do to his face what he did to the pillow in Chapter 6. It's not QUITE going to be the last of him, but it might be the last time we see him directly on-camera. We'll see how future chapters pan out.
-->Playing some Vampire -- Harry the Gangrel successfully disgusted Tommy Flayton and fulfilled the prince's mini-quest to basically destroy a restaurant out of pettiness, checked in at the Red Spot to get some new weapons and "armor" (actually just leather clothes), and started the first of Velvet Velour's quests by checking in at Vesuvius. I already get to call her Velvet, which I believe is supposed to be the second stage of our relationship -- hooray high Persuasion. Not hooray is trying to get Chastity the vampire-hunting stripper alone long enough to kill her without failing one of VV's requirements (no innocents harmed, no witnesses). I got rid of the guys by hacking the computer (and accidentally advanced a step further in the main quest at the same time, heh) and emptying the change machine, but distracting Chastity's coworker looks like it might be a pain. I've left Harry parked outside the employees only door for another try -- kinda hoping I can just suck Chastity dry and have that be the end of it quickly. We'll see!
-->Marathoning Helloween -- he actually posted the last of his Dark Souls 3 DLC sets today, so I ended up watching the whole thing in one go. Interesting stuff, revolving around another painted world stuck in a sort of eternal winter. Lore is a bit confusing, but it had one cool boss, a lot of pretty scenery, and plenty of Helloween silliness. He himself wasn't TOO impressed -- he still likes the game, but he feels it's gotten kinda samey by now. He admits Bloodborne may have ruined him for DS3 -- which, to be fair, if I was going to chose between the two, I'd pick the former too. Eldritch Victorian-style horror for the win, baby. There was also the final Castlevania set (which was a lot of Helloween trying to figure out just where he's supposed to go, and discovering a special ability with one of the shields that allows you to cheese the hell out of everything -- also one of the weirder Draculas I've seen); a video of him making fairy cakes (aka cupcakes for us over here); and two very short videos about him abusing lightning in Final Fantasy XV and getting party bodied in Steep the winter sports simulator. Good stuff. :p
And I've just done my queues for myself and Forgotten Vows, so it's time for me to hit the sheets, I think. Four-day week this week! . . .Even if the day off is a Thursday. . .but I'll take it nonetheless. Night all!
