crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
We ended up being on the lower end of the estimate (about 8 inches in our neighborhood), but whooo boy, it was definitely coming down hard and strong for a while! And the wind's been awful all day. Definitely not a day to go outside -- glad work gave me it off! And now the temperature's supposed to drop like crazy over the weekend. . .which is a problem as the plows going up and down our street just cut off our freshly-shoveled driveway (which took Dad AGES to clear because of the wind -- and he did his friend around the street too!) with a four-foot-high wall of snow. *grumbles* Which is probably going to freeze into like a solid block of ice overnight. . . Fortunate Mom works in the afternoons and I've got a delayed start tomorrow morning (office opens at 10 AM), so we've got a little time to try and clear it. Mom already wrote an angry note to the mayor's office about the plow driver making it so nobody could get out of their houses.

Other than that, though, we survived Winter Storm Grayson (yup, it's named -- Weather Channel names 'em) pretty well. Power never went out, hooray! I didn't do much of import, but I did:

-->Get another page written on "Secundus 2," of the group arriving at the McFly farm -- ended up establishing George as the only one with kids currently (and found out that William McFly has no canonical wife, so I'm just calling the one in the fic Caroline). A little more scene-building, then we'll get around to the heartfelt "of course you're gonna be a good dad" discussion.

-->Watch a bunch of Kubz Scouts videos -- some new free random games (some shitty jumpscare games, some actually interesting platformers, and one Yandere Simulator rip-off), and a couple of goofy games from his past (a shockingly complex and frustrating dating simulator which is also a cooking simulator; and a "survival horror" game that cracked him up with its awful cutscenes). Good times!

-->Watch Helloween's latest video, where he gushes about an N64 racing game that he loved -- San Francisco Rush 4029. Admittedly it does look like loads of fun -- a bunch of tracks, all with secret areas (including the chance to drive up a skyscraper), a obstacle course, various stunt arenas. . .his sheer enthusiasm for this bit of his childhood was adorable. Poor man is also still sick and thus can't record his regular videos. *hugs him* Feel better soon, Hells!

-->Watch the rest of 2017's "Big Fat Quiz Of The Year" (a UK gameshow we enjoy) with lunch and supper -- as usual, most of the quiz was spent on Jimmy and the contestants annoying and making fun of each other XD

-->Play some BioShock 2 -- managed to kill my first Big Sister! O.O Admittedly, I died halfway through the fight and had to be revived via VitaChamber, but I managed to win round two with some trap rivets and lots of Incinerate. I've now moved onto the next area, Pauper's Drop -- and now I have to figure out how to get to the "leader" of the place, Grace Holloway. Preferably without being slaughtered by Splicers I can't see. *grumbles* Had a scary moment where I made a save, only for the game to crash right after -- turns out the save was okay, but I still moved around just slightly and made a new one before quitting out. Really wish it would stop doing that, but. . .

-->Watch RabbidLuigi's "Best Games Of The Year" list (I'd previously watched the "Worst" one -- was not surprised at all to see Resident Evil 7, Nier: Automata, Super Mario Odyssey, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all represented, given the good press I've heard about all)

-->Watch Linkara's "My 15 Favorite Episodes" episode -- what a fun trip down memory lane! I was a little surprised to see a "Marville" comic on the list, but he explained it as enjoying ripping something incredibly stupid apart. (Same reason "Holy Terror" and "Spider-Man: One More Day" made the list too.) And he's already stated that this whole year is all about making "sequels" in some form or fashion to previous episodes, so that'll be loads of fun. :)

-->Watch a few episodes of Deligracy's The Sims 4: Vampires LP, along with her preliminary CAS and house-building videos. She's got a whole family of vampires living in Forgotten Hollow -- although she nearly killed one only the second episode in by sending her out to get gardening stuff in the sun. XD So far it's fun, and makes me excited as to where I'm going to be taking my vampire!Alice and eventual vampire!Victor in my own Sims game. :)

-->Get my Valice Multiverse queue all set -- and, thanks to having drafted all of my Sims posts for the next few weeks AND deciding to do quick beginning-of-year updates on "Fixing You" and "Secundus 2" (to buy myself a tiny bit of time to figure out what I want to do for upcoming Fridays and how to best start getting the Secundus shortfics up for Sundays), my VictorLuvsAlice queue is now set STRAIGHT THROUGH NEXT THURSDAY. Now THAT'S a satisfying feeling. :D Don't expect it to last too long, but hey -- takes some of the pressure off what will be my first full week of work in a while next week. :p

So, uh, yeah -- as you can see, today was largely about sitting on my butt watching YouTube videos. XD Ah well -- as stated, the weather outside was frightful, and the computer so delightful. But I do have work tomorrow, even if it's later than usual, so time for me to hit the sack. Night all!
