crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
Like so:

-->Wake up and discover I've got an hour delay -- but I still need to go in early because my mom's got an eye doctor appointment. All right, fine, I still get a little extra time on the computer (get a bunch of stuff drafted on ValiceMultiverse) and I can also mess around on the computer at work if need be

-->Get to work, do said messing around (largely just drafting responses to the DW comments in my e-mail), then start actual work at 9:30. Spend most of the day doing processing company maintenance to bring that pile down; nice and low-key.

-->Then Mom texts me and it turns out she has a detached retina. She and Dad are going up to a specialist in Mass and they don't know if they'll be back in time to get me (we all took one car this morning because of the snow and because it was easier just to drop me off than muck around with multiple cars). So I'm under threat of having to grab a bus (although my coworkers kindly offer me rides). Okay, I can deal.

-->Around mid-afternoon, the requests for me to do all the things start up again, including one which involves either me going through a list of e-mails broken up by age group one by one to remove unsubscribeds and hard bounces, or doing so in batch in RE and figuring out how to re-segment the list after I re-export it. Which is interrupted both by a guy on the phone complaining about our phone system and asking about a payroll deduction pledge (which I have nothing to do with) and Mom calling to say she isn't having the procedure that she thought she was having, so she and Dad are here to pick me up. At least I don't have to worry about the bus.

-->Head home with the parents who explain that Mom's retina is only 1/5 detached, but she needs surgery to fix it (which will happen this upcoming Tuesday) and then needs about two weeks recovery time. So she's gonna be out of work, and can't drive because she'll need to stay looking at the floor as much as possible to make sure her retina reattaches. So I'm taking the car solo to and from work the next couple of weeks (barring snow events, in which Dad will drive me if I have work).

So none of this is the worst thing that could happen, but it's not exactly great. Mom's taking a "doing what I have to to get my eye fixed" attitude, and I'm trying not to worry either, but -- well, it can be hard. And on the more selfish side, while I know I can get to and from work, you guys know I'm no big fan of driving. Too many nuts on the road for my liking. Meh.

All right, let's have some more positive stuff to balance this out:

-->Got a very solid chunk done on "Secundus 2" -- Clara is safely set up in her cabin, so it's time to tease the hell out of Doc over his attraction to her XD

-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue all settled, which is nice

-->Got to watch Jack Whitehall be funny over dinner, and a bunch of YouTube videos (one LGR look at Microsoft Bob -- not quite as awful as you might have always heard!; one OXBox list on weird side-scroller beat-em-up bosses -- did you know that one had Spider-Man as a boss? And then he turned into Batman?; one OXtra list about villains cooler than the main heroes of their games -- and Wario, for some reason; and another OXBox list about canceled games that were full of potential and Guillermo Del Toro)

So that was nice, at least. And tomorrow's Friday, which also helps some. Hopefully it won't be too stressful -- and if it is, at least I get a weekend after it. *nods* Okay, time for bed -- night all!
