What Is It With Me And Hitting Traffic?
Mar. 9th, 2018 11:36 pmI swear, every time I'm at the wheel of the car alone, it seems I always hit some bad patch. . . At least nothing's actually happened to me yet. Hopefully I can keep it that way with some of these nuts on the road. *grumbles* Had one guy drift into my lane and then swerve back suddenly -- not fun.
Work wasn't too bad today -- I mainly focused on doing some imports and getting some reports run for people. Although I'm getting rather tired of people coming up on me while I'm already in the middle of something else (today was the boss dumping a project back on me while I was in the middle of a phone call). But as the person who seems to know the most about the things my supervisor did while she was still employed there. . . *sigh* Got the weekend now, though. And a long one to look forward to in a couple of weeks' time. Kinda pushing on for Easter right now.
I was very productive on the writing side once I got home, though -- almost two pages on "Fixing You," doing the rehearsal scene. It occurred to me while I was writing it that I now sort of have Victor and Alice getting married twice in this story -- a "dry run" here while they're working out Victor's issues, then the actual event at the end. But I feel like tackling Victor's nerves over weddings is important -- and besides, I doubt my readers are going to object to two wedding scenes. :p I certainly don't -- for something set in Silent Burtonsville (or, well, just outside the gates), it's actually quite sweet.
After that was the usual YouTube marathon, including:
-->The Sim Supply looking at a joke "The Sims 5" trailer that The Sims YouTube channel put out (which I believe was meant to show off their crossover with Final Fantasy XV -- yes, really. The Super-Llama costumes are available for characters to wear in that game, and Sims 4 just got the main character's main outfit in an update)
-->Jay from the Kubz Scouts trying out some free random games (including a goofy game where you have to slingshot your way into a building to deliver packages, and one where you punch nasty tweets to defend your internet space)
-->A Simmer going on a rather disastrous jungle vacation (mainly because he used his serial killer Sim)
-->A "Fun With Shorts" about a shoe repair guy -- Josh's riffs were amusing, but I found the short itself a touch bittersweet. The guy it's about is no actor, but it's clear he likes his job -- a job that doesn't really exist anymore in the modern era. It's an interesting snapshot of an earlier time.
-->Helloween's first set of the "Born From A Wish" sub-scenario of Silent Hill 2. So far, it involves such cheery things as men locking themselves away in mansions to try and forget the deaths of their children. Silent Hill, everyone! Doesn't help that the sub-scenario follows Maria, who I already know is going to have an unpleasant realization later on about who (or, rather, what she is). Hells already seems intrigued, though -- I look forward to hearing his thoughts on the whole thing later.
And then the usual catch-up on webcomics and such. Also got my Valice Multiverse queue done, which is nice. Currently working on getting a bit more of my VictorLuvsAlice one up. Also gotta answer my DW comments -- should get on those now, honestly. Always something to do. . . Night all!
