The Amazing Disappearing Snow
Apr. 2nd, 2018 11:35 pmWeather today went as follows:
Waking Up Around 9:45 AM: Snow is falling in big heavy clumps, grass is already covered with a good couple of inches, as are trees. Expect day to be incredibly icky.
Around 11:00 AM: Mom suggests a quick run to one of the local shopping plazas (she has some stuff she wants to get at Sally's Beauty Supply and the dollar store) to get me a little practice in driving in heavy falling snow. I'm not thrilled -- until Dad points out something interesting.
The snow isn't sticking to the pavement. O.o
Yeah -- the snow is only sticking to grass, trees, mats, stuff like that. The roads are wet, but otherwise okay. Mom and I do our little trip, driving is fine, and when we leave the dollar store, the snow is starting to let up a little.
Around 12:30 PM: Snow returns to clumpy form for a bit, but then peters out by about one -- and the snow on the grass is already starting to melt.
Around 2:00 PM: Occasional spitting snow, but the sun is starting to peek out. Snow on ground continues to melt.
By 4:00 PM: Snow is completely gone. Day remains kinda cloudy but is otherwise all right.
??? I mean, I'm GLAD, I didn't particularly WANT another snowstorm, but -- huh. Bit of an odd start to April. Dad says Wednesday is supposed to be 61 for a high and rainy -- I hope so. If we must have bad weather, I'd much rather have THAT.
Accomplishments of the day:
-->Finishing up my scene in my private AU -- again, incredibly self-indulgent, but it's just for me, and it was fun. Very good break from my main stories. Back to "Secundus 2" tomorrow!
-->Starting on the Super Sim series from The Sim Supply! This is like his major undertaking in the game -- a Sim who must max all skills, complete all aspirations, and have a family, all while never dying. I've been wanting to watch this for a while, especially after I enjoyed the Parenthood LP "prequel" James made, but given it's a 94-part series at the moment, it was a bit daunting. With no other videos screaming for my attention, though, I went ahead and watched the first five episodes. Good times if you're like me and enjoy seeing a Sim grind to get more skill points. Also is encouraging me to get the "Savant" reward trait for my own Sims, and switch around their aspirations more. (Victor should probably do the Freelance Botanist one, given his love of gardening. . .)
-->Playing some BioShock 2 -- still loathe Houdini and Spider splicers, but I found some awesome hauls of stuff, made good use of my grenade launcher, and I did my second two gathers with a Little Sister! . . .and then tried TWICE to cure her and send her on her way, but first the game crashed and second I got pulled into a fight with a Big Sister that -- yeah, it was just a bit too much after all the splicers I had to deal with during the gathers. I'll send her back to her hole next time I play -- and hopefully do a better job against Big Sister!
-->Watching Helloween's latest System Shock 2 set -- the layout of the ship continues to confuse me, and I wish he'd slow down a bit when it comes to the story sections (because whooo boy, did shit go down on that ship), but it's still an enjoyable watch! Especially since Helloween now has the ultimate weapon against dangerous cybernetic enemies -- CROTCH SHOTS. Seriously, thanks to how they attack, if you crouch down and attack their legs (and, well, crotch), you can hit them, but they can't hit you. Pleasant bit of cheesing there. XD
-->Getting a bit more of the VictorLuvsAlice queue done -- mostly the first Eric Embers update. Makes me wish I could take a spa day. . .ah well, I can live vicariously.
Okay, off to answer the last comment in my inbox, then hit the sheets. Work tomorrow, after all. *deep breath* Hopefully it won't be too hectic. . .but I'm sure it will be. Just keep your fingers crossed that the traffic doesn't screw me over along with everything else. Night all!
