Bit Of A Tough Tuesday
Jul. 3rd, 2018 11:27 pmBetween the revelation that some of the gifts we put on earlier today apparently shouldn't have gone on, or should have been dated differently (at least according to Fiscal), and trying to keep up with the capital campaign reporting, and FINALLY getting a certain import we've been waiting on. . .yeah, it was a kind of stressful day at work. At least I got all my must-dos done. . . And we did get out early, though THAT didn't turn out the way I wanted it to exactly either. My parents brought my mom's car to our usual mechanic to get the air conditioning in it fixed (it wasn't coming out cold anymore), and I ended up getting taken along, during some nasty traffic (not helped by a truck breaking down on the road we wanted to use to get up there and back). The problem was mutual wrong assumptions on my and my parents' parts -- I thought they would automatically turn and drop me off, while for some reason at least Mom thought I didn't have my house key on me (probably because she didn't because they were with her car keys). I still got home earlier than I would have on a normal work day, it was just -- irritating. (And hot -- temperature felt like it was in the 100s again this afternoon -- fortunately the aircon in Dad's truck works, and Mom's is working a lot better now.)
Afternoon got better once we got home -- I got another good chunk done on "Fixing You." Gang is in the Land of the Dead, Victoria and Christopher have been introduced to the group, and June's been reunited with her mother and finally met her brother. And started calling him by the proper name. XD It's all very cute. After that was a workout, and after that supper -- steak sandwiches again, om nom. And then it was Sim Supply time! Watched another episode of "Rags To Riches: Seasons" -- largely about renovating the house and making it look like, well, a HOUSE. Though he did get the family a dog -- Scooby Doo. XD No, literally, he went on the gallery and found himself a Scooby Doo. Apparently people were saying in the comment that the baby's name, Raggy, reminded them of how he would say "Shaggy" in the cartoon, and James was all for rolling with it. XD I also watched another episode of "Super Sim" -- we're up to when the Vampires game pack was released, so James has started Max on doing a bit of vampire stuff! Mainly researching the lore. He's also almost maxed the Wellness skill via yoga, and finally reached the top level of the Entertainer career's Comedian branch! So that was a good thing. :) I actually wanted to watch another episode of the "Rags To Riches: Seasons" LP, but for some reason the next video was not playing correctly -- the sound would keep going on, but the picture would freeze. Part of the reason I watched more "Super Sim" was to see if it was happening with every YouTube video, or just that one. *grumbles* Frustrating. . . I'll try again tomorrow, see if it's any better then.
Then I did my Valice Multiverse queue, and caught up on my websites, and futzed around on the web a bit. And watched the trailer for BTTF, since it IS the anniversary. :) (Actually, I watched the trailer for BTTF II first, since I have that handy on a playlist, but then decided, this it the day Part I came out, I should do that one.) So yeah, some heavily-frustrating moments (not helped by my being on my period), but there's been some nice stuff too. Can't complain too much.
Okay -- off to answer the remaining stuff in my inbox. Tomorrow -- well, it's supposed to thunderstorm, so I guess we're getting all-natural fireworks. :p As long as it drops the humidity some! We're not expected to see a real break in the heat until Friday, with more storms coming through. Saturday's supposed to be in the 70s, won't that be lovely. <3 But yeah, no real plans beyond videos, writing, and probably some Sims. Gotta at least add in my Alice dresses and knife again. . . Night all!
