Happy Alice Boating Trip Day!
Jul. 4th, 2018 11:22 pm. . .What? July 4th is the date the historical Alice Liddell remembered going on the famous boating trip on which Charles Dodgson, aka Lewis Carroll, first told the story of Wonderland to her and her sisters Edith and Lorina. (There's some doubt about if she was remembering the RIGHT date, given the forecast for that day was apparently kinda rainy and gloomy, not sunny, but *shrug*) And I'm a bit more interested in Alice than typical July 4th stuff.
At any rate, it was a nice day off. Another one spent hiding in the air conditioning to stay out of the heat and humidity -- those thunderstorms we were supposed to get never actually arrived. *shrug* We'll see what happens Friday -- supposed to rain and be miserable all day. As long as it gets me a nice Saturday, I won't mind. Kinda sick of the weather not being good for walking. . .but you can only work with what you have. With that in mind:
-->Wrote some more on "Fixing You" -- Victor and Alice confessed to getting married in a registrar's office, and briefly faced Ms. Plum's wrath. XD Alice's dislike of typical "house" and "wedding" games as a child also came up, as did Reginald Hargreaves (if you don't know, a man by that name was the historical Alice's eventual husband). Just a bit of fun before I start wrapping this up.
-->Watched a few Kubz Scouts videos about various free random games and another Yandere Simulator update -- typical amusing stuff. Though something he said about the audio in one of his videos not QUITE syncing unless you put it at a certain resolution stuck with me. . .
-->And when I tried that trick with the The Sim Supply "Rags To Riches: Seasons" episode I was having trouble with last night (dropped the resolution to 720), suddenly it played fine. I think there was a bug in videos uploaded during that timeframe, as that video and the Kubz Scouts one came out about the same time, and I was able to restore my normal resolution in the next video without issue. At least now I have an idea of how to fix that issue!
Anyway, watched some more "Rags to Riches: Seasons" now that I could -- James is SCRAMBLING to keep up with the needs of his growing family. I can almost SEE him hating all his life choices. XD But nobody's died or been taken away by social services yet, so that's good. He's redone the house so it has something resembling a proper layout, had the second child (a boy, which he named "Richie" -- Raggy and Richie, get it?), and gotten a proper laundry nook going in the kitchen. And even managed to sell a few flower arrangements via yard sale! So there has been progress. Dude's been working his ass off. XD
-->Played some Sims 4: Seasons myself -- got my mods and CC back in and hopped into Victor and Alice's house in Newcrest. Where I proceeded to see they were having a heatwave. XD It just tickles me that my Sims' lives would so closely mirror my own in that instance. . . I gave everybody a few options for hot and cool weather outfits, and discovered, to my eternal delight, that one of the in-world roller skating rinks spawns RIGHT NEXT TO THEIR HOUSE! :D So Victor and Alice went skating together, and then the whole family went and skated once Emma got home from school. :D Not exactly a skating DATE, not yet, but I'll take it! Dinah did have to go to the vet, though -- Prismatic Poop Plague, poor thing. And Victor got his blood drained again, because Alice and I are both very thirsty. :p She's JUST shy of getting some more power points and getting the "vampire creation" power -- once she gets that, Victor's getting turned and gets to stop being her blood bank. (Though he can still get mesmerized, of course -- just now he can hit her BACK with those mental powers.) I also really need to build him a greenhouse, because most of his plants are now out of season and are mere dirt piles awaiting rebirth in fall. AND I added a 4th of July-style holiday to summer just cause. So much to do, so much to do. . .but I'm looking forward to it. :) This makes the game so much more ALIVE, it's great. :D I already have a few ideas for lots I'd like to do if I find some time. . .
-->Found myself a new workout video for days where I can't get out and walk -- I'm doing decently on the whole "keeping fit" front and I'd like to keep that up.
-->Watched the latest adventures of Thicckoskia from Helloween -- no death by ledges, just death by enormous nasty knights. She conquered them eventually, along with a few bosses (the pretty-difficult Smough and Ornstein, and the pathetically easy Pinwheel), and started up the whole "have to kill the four Lordkeeper Souls" part of the game. Along with plenty of item hunting, ghost and skeleton slaying, destruction of property, and spanking the invader that killed her last time. Solid set, is what I'm saying. XD
-->Put up another chapter of "The Technicolor Phase" -- Alice Yellow, an ickle-Lizzie POV on Alice's birth. I thought it was cute, anyway. Slapped that up in my tumblr queue, along with a few other posts, so I'm set until Friday evening now.
And now it's just a matter of emptying out my inbox before going to bed. :) Gotta busy day ahead of me tomorrow (I don't even KNOW what's happening with parish weekly reports), but at least it's just one full day. And then Friday, for all its potential horrible weather, is an early release! That shall sustain me. *nods* But for now, answering some messages. Night!
