Gloomy But Okay Friday
Nov. 30th, 2018 11:33 pmWeather wasn't the greatest -- kind of grey all day, and getting drizzly by the time I left work -- but work itself wasn't TOO stressful. Hell, we actually got a few issues SORTED for a change. So that was nice. And I was able to dedicate a lot of time to a project that came in recently regarding keeping the database up to date, so that was good too. Nice to have some days that don't feel like complete clusterfucks.
Afternoon's been decent too. Finished up the Deluded Depths section of Chapter 10 of "Fixing You" -- now we're moving onto the Looking-Glass Land section, which is actually based more on the book version than the game. Reason being, the scenario I thought up for that world is Victor and Alice watching a mock chess battle, and the field board that's set up in the book seemed better for that than the hemmed-in streets of the two towns in American McGee's Alice. Looking Glass Land is technically supposed to be its own place anyway -- I figure it's big enough to contain both the original book features and the stuff that showed up in AMA. Plus I think the sequence I came up with is funny, sooo. . . XD
Also caught up with Sim Supply's "Get Famous Rags To Riches" -- Plan Omega (have Lady II woohoo with Holly, her first love interest, in front of Thorne, the guy whose life she is destroying, to show him she never even cared for him, then break up with him and evict him from the lot) has gone off without a hitch. Thorne has been thrown out, and is now living in a tent in a park. XD However, karma slammed Lady II pretty hard almost immediately -- not only has she still not won a Starlight Accolade, she's ALSO now a single mother to twin toddlers. James is rapidly realizing just how freaking HARD that is. XD Not to mention she got bugged out for a while where she just wouldn't sleep. Still a top-level actress, though -- AND she's finally become a four-star Proper Celebrity! So that should provide some fun stuff in the future. Now we just have to see if she ever achieves the "riches" part of this series. . .
Rest of the evening has been largely catching up on websites and working on queues. You know, the usual stuff. Gonna go around and empty out the comments in my inbox, and then I've got more writing to do with a friend. And then tomorrow we're putting up the Christmas decorations, and I've got room-cleaning. . . Always something keeping me busy. Night all!
