A Week In One Day
Dec. 28th, 2018 10:57 pmAKA had a rather busy day at work! Trying to catch up on calls and messages left, get some checks on before the end of the day, get the GL for basically the past week sorted (there was a surprising amount of activity on Wednesday from our gift vendors!). . .it was a lot to juggle. I got the most important bits done, at any rate. And now I get another four-day weekend, yay. I also lucked out on the traffic -- not bad at all, even with the rain! Though there were a few definite nuts on my ride home. . .managed to avoid getting too close. Just hate driving in poor weather. Either there's so much traffic you want to scream, or you get jerks taking chances with everyone's lives.
Afternoon went by quite smoothly and quickly, I gotta say:
-->Got in my workout, which is always good; trying to get back into the habit with that now
-->Wrote some more on Chapter 11 of "Fixing You" -- went back to Helloween's revisit of A:MR to refresh my memory on how one traverses the Dollhouse to get to Fort Resistance. It's hard to describe some of the stuff in there. I can get away with fudging some details, as the place is supposed to be in better repair now, but -- what DO you call those spinning poles with the green platforms attached? *shrug* Got my page, though, so that's good. Slowly but surely getting back in the groove.
-->Watched:
A) OXBox make the world's worst cocktail, or at least the world's worst cocktail for THEM -- the recipe, from Hitman 2, was actually SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to include things Andy hated, because Andy happened to be complaining about the Colorado level of Hitman in front of one of the designers for that level, who decided to take a very weird revenge. It included cognac, spiced rum, pureed chilies, A RAW UNBEATEN EGG, salt water (the recipe said a human tear but they made substitution), and a celery stick for garnish. Luke took THREE SIPS from that monstrosity -- how he avoided needing an emergency stomach pump is beyond me.
B) Call Me Kevin tackling the last level of Hitman 2 -- in his clown outfit and with his fish, of course. He was utterly out of place at a party for the richest and most influential people on earth. :p And, as usual, his response to the mission was to go full Mike -- many, many guards were smacked with a fish. And also he set someone on fire and choked someone else with a necklace. And killed a guy the mission demanded he KEEP ALIVE (for plot reasons; I don't know what the plot actually is) just to see what would happen. Getting an achievement in the process because Hitman 2 knows its audience. XD
C) The latest episode of Atop The Fourth Wall -- which was actually uploaded yesterday, but I didn't have time to watch it then. It was a good one -- we had a solid resolution to the storyline (Eliza's learned a few things about trusting ghosts, and Linkara's doing his best to make amends with her), sandwiched around a rather goofy little comic about Luke Cage beating up a maniac who was planning on nuking New York as people weren't nice anymore. Sequential art, everybody!
-->And I've gotten my queue done for Valice Multiverse, so that's all taken care of, yay~ All that remains is to queue up another post for Song Saturday (I know I want to do a Poets of the Fall song, but which one?) and answer the remaining comments in my inbox. Pretty standard stuff for a Friday. Hopefully New Year's weekend will be as nice as Christmas/birthday weekend turned out to be. Night all!
