A Very YouTubey Friday
Feb. 22nd, 2019 11:34 pmI said I would binge, and binge I did. XD To be fair, I had a decent amount of stuff I wanted to watch, including:
-->A Discworld-themed podcast, Wyrd Sisters, in which a long-time Discworld fan and a newbie talk about the books in the series -- this one was about the very first one, The Color of Magic. Some sound glitches and a lot of awkward talking moments, but it was enjoyable nevertheless -- if only to listen to the newbie chat about how she enjoyed the book, weirdness and all, and thinking about how the series is going to evolve as time goes on and get even better. :)
-->Three OXBox/OXtra lists, detailing such weirdness as bosses you fought via quiz questions; annoying memory minigames, and times where the game faked you out with a fake ending to a section (or even the entire game)! All amusing, though there remains a distinct lack of Jane in most of the lists. Hmmm.
-->A Kubz Scouts video on some updates to Yandere Simulator, which sadly didn't turn out to be all that interesting (some new decoration on the school and the occult club walking around investigating "mysteries" that we can't puzzle out yet).
-->A new "Fun With Shorts" about the adventures of a bunny family; included a farmer tossing a bunny nibbling on his lettuce into a DOLLHOUSE for some reason (???)
-->And Helloween's last oversized set of Leon's section in Resident Evil 2 REmake! Leon did a lot of the same stuff Claire did (such as douse the overgrown lab in herbicide and fight good old Burkin), but also had some stuff unique to him (such as discovering Ada was lying about being FBI and having a final showdown with that damn Mr. X who was stalking both him and Claire most of the game). All ended in one epic final showdown with the mass of flesh that was once William Burkin, and now he, Claire, and Sherry have walked off into the sunset. (Literally -- they tried to get a ride, but the only semi driver around flipped them off as he went past.) So that's the main campaign done -- but there are other, extra modes to fool around in! And since Helloween has gone gung-ho for playing this game (he's been doing a ton of streams of the Claire portion of the game apparently), the LP is not over yet! I'm looking forward to seeing the other stuff he's unlocked. :)
So yeah! Nice to have an extra day just to catch up on all of that!
I also did some other stuff:
-->Played some BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea Chapter 2 -- I made it through that Manta Ray Lounge area that was giving me trouble before, and actually went back to the plot to discover Suchong's been opening Tears in Rapture -- and if we want to proceed any further, we need to fix his device. We have a list of necessary components, now it's just a matter of getting them. . .at least I got a fun new crossbow bolt type -- gas bombs! Put anyone near it to sleep. Will probably be getting a lot of good use out of that. . .first, though, I need to pick up some Old Man Winter. . .
-->Finished off Chapter 15 of "Fixing You," with Alice helping Victor recover from his Hysterical moment and setting them on course to the Van Dort mansion. So now I get to start Chapter 16! Which -- may see some serious rewrites as I'm pondering some new ideas. Including another chapter split, as this one currently has what is technically TWO boss fights. (I say "technically" because one boss isn't exactly fought. . .)
-->Did my Valice Multiverse queue -- nothing too fancy, mostly asks referencing other asks. I can dig it. At least I don't have to worry about the Victor Luvs Alice one tonight.
All right, and now I have to do my usual round of comment answering, then get on the thing I do with one of my tumblr friends on Friday evenings. Back into the routine. . .well, not like it isn't fun. Night all!
