crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Went back up to Lang's Bowl-o-Rama on this rainy, rainy Sunday -- ran into a few technical difficulties with our lane (mainly, the guy on the computer had accidentally assigned our lane to the person next to us -- we were lane 7, he was lane 8 -- and then forgot to readjust how much time we had to bowl -- he'd paid for one hour, we'd paid for two), but it all worked out in the end. Thanks to each of us making sure to have two balls available, we were able to bowl five and a half games! My best game was my first one, where I actually got a strike and was ahead of Dad for a little while -- he still won, but it was a close thing. My skill level kinda -- dropped, after that. ^^; I blame my wrist getting tired -- it's hard to find just the right weight ball sometimes! And it got super busy for a while, making it harder to concentrate. Though I did pick up a lot of spares, at least. Dad won all the games, no surprise, but Mom and I are slowly getting better, so -- yay there. Planning to do it again at the end of March, and this time try out some of the food they serve (as we go around lunchtime and always get pretty dang hungry afterward). We're not expecting anything spectacular -- it's a bowling alley -- but if the pizza's good, that'll just be a bonus. :)

Rest of my day was spent catching up on various things:

-->Started Chapter 16 of "Fixing You" -- which was a bit shorter than I expected! I'd guessed it about 20 pages, but it's actually about 15. Though we'll see how long that lasts after I'm through editing it. Already working in an idea I got from a reviewer, who thought Houndsditch ought to be represented in Silent Burtonsville -- kinda mixing it in with the Van Dort mansion. Makes for an interesting visual, at any rate.

-->Watched the latest episode of Atop The Fourth Wall -- poor Linkara had to subject himself to yet another Youngblood comic -- this time, the 0th issue! Which was actually released between issues 3 and 4. It's a stupid, poorly-drawn tale of an earlier version of the Youngblood team on a mission during the Gulf War, which is short-circuited by some of their members getting into a fight, their leader punching out and killing a guy, and said leader being quietly removed from superhero and military life (also the guy he killed was actually a clone, and he is a zombie). At least we only needed to endure 18 minutes worth of it.

-->Watched The Sim Supply's latest videos -- a look at the Build/Buy stuff in the new StrangerVille game pack, and the start of a miniseries of him playing it at SimStudio, with developer GuruRomeo over his shoulder. Both actually really warmed me up to the game pack -- the world itself is very nicely made (James had a lot of praise for the trailer park his Sim was living in, and is unduly excited about lava lamps XD), seeing actual gameplay makes me much more interested in the story, and there's so many cool "secret lab" items I think I have to get the pack just to help outfit Nikal and Emmett's lab. XD So yay, I'm on board with the strangeness! Let's see what comes of future videos.

-->Watched the first bit of Helloween's latest Saturday LP -- Secret of Mana 2! A game he started on his own a while back via emulation, but never finished, so now he's trying it again. We have a crisis in the world as Mana begins to fade, and our main character, Angela (out of a possible six) was nearly killed by her own mother, the Queen of Alterna, in an attempt to unleash the power of her kingdom's Mana Seed. Angela is now on the run, having been instructed to go to the Holy City of Wendel, and has picked up two friends, a swordsman, Duran, and a lost little girl, Carlie. Our heroes who will save the world, everyone! :p Seriously, though, I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes -- the original game was a lot of fun, especially with Helloween's silly voices, and this one looks to be more of the same. :)

-->Also watched a RabbidLuigi video about super-rare games (a version of Tetris was on the list, to my surprise); and a Fact Hunt episode from Guru Larry about gaming mascots canceled for weird/sad reasons ("sad" because both the first entry and the last involve people dying). So that was something.

-->And I just got my ValiceMultiverse queue done, along with prepping the pictures for my next Sims update, so yay there.

And now, well, time to empty the inbox and speed off to bed -- didn't realize it was getting so late, yikes. Work again tomorrow -- back to the usual routine. *sigh* Well, hopefully everything was okay in my absence and I can sort of catch up again. . .night all!
