crossover_chick: Victor leaning over to look at a blue butterfly in a glass jar (CB: i has a happy thing)
Okay, not EXACTLY last minute, but when I got up (earlier than I wanted to -- I REALLY had to go to the bathroom), the closing list still said we only had an hour and a half delay. Considering we got about a foot of snow overnight, Mom and I were fairly sore about this. But then, just as I was having my breakfast, I checked the list again, and FINALLY the darn thing updated to say the building was closed today and would open normal time tomorrow! I don't think I've been that relieved over something in YEARS. Did NOT want to go out in that mess, that's for damn sure!

So yeah, had the day off, and spent it largely watching YouTube and playing video games. XD Since I'd gotten up so early, I actually had time to play both BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea 2 AND The Sims 4! Had pretty solid play sessions in both, too:

-->In BioShock Infinite, I collected both the "Old Man Winter" mods I was looking for before (turns out one was in the place I needed to go anyway), and cracked that safe in the bathysphere service bay to find the second mod for my "Possession" plasmid. So that was all good. :) I had Elizabeth repair the Lutece device, and headed into Columbia -- right in the middle of Infinite itself, in fact. Got the particle we needed to make the buildings rise up again, but Suchong blocked our way back home because he wanted a lock of hair from Fink's old lab, meaning we have to sneak around the Vox/Founders fight at Fink's factories Elizabeth and Booker got stuck in the middle of the first time around. (Ironically, I believe he's looking for a lock of Elizabeth's hair, meaning we could have avoided all this by simply promising him a lock of the stuff currently on her head. Though, given she's now just an ordinary girl, maybe it wouldn't be of any use to him. . .) Shot me a bunch of Vox, and saw the Lutece's manipulating Daisy into threatening Fink's kid so Elizabeth would be forced to kill her and thus become a "woman" capable of going up against Comstock. (Which, uh, BOOKER ended up killing the guy in the end. . .I appreciated Robert calling Rosalind out on her shit -- specifically, comparing her to Suchong -- in one of my death loading screens, game, but I'd REALLY like some other characters doing the same to the "twins." They're fascinating characters, but I'd call them villains too at this point.) On my way into the factories proper to find the lab -- hopefully it'll go well! I have gotten better at sneaking around and shooting stealthily -- and I can perma-possess turrets now too, so that should help.

-->In Sims 4, we went all over the world! I've decided Chell is going to be doing the StrangerVille stuff, with the help of Wheatley and Geeker -- you don't have to live in the world to solve the mystery, so that's nice. I sent them off to get started by talking to people at the local watering hole and buying some stuff from the curio stand (Wheatley got a sweet colander hat). I was getting ready to send them off to see the secret lab --

When I got the notice that the Romance Festival was in town.

Cue me immediately dropping everything and sending the group on over, because I decided long ago that Wheatley and Chell were going to get married there (it has a wedding arch and everything!). They did some flirting while Geeker invited his love interest Dario over and upped their relationship, then I sent them to the arch and had them exchange vows. :) So Chelley is official in my game, yay~ Now the StrangerVille mystery can be their honeymoon, of sorts! XD (And yes, I totally intend to get Wheatley possessed -- it's just going to be too funny. XD)

I also watched a bunch of videos, including some more "Fact Hunt" and the latest Kubz Scouts video on Yandere Simulator (people finally react to blood puddles in that) -- best ones, however, were:

-->The newest Hitman 2: Three Ways To Play from the OXBox crew! Featuring the Mumbai level -- well, the first half of it, anyway. Multiple targets, and it took all of them a while to eliminate the first one, a lady slumlord. Andy, of course, carefully followed a story mission that resulted in 47 talking about his assassination job like running a laundry business (he was disguised as the new foreman) to the woman -- before shoving her off a bridge to her death without anyone realizing it was him (everyone conveniently turned away before he did it). Jane ended up spending a frightening amount of time in the sewers, but found herself a story mission and strangled the slumlord to death while disguised as a tailor making her a new dress.

And Mike promptly ran in a completely different direction, shimmied along a high bridge desperately avoiding guards, found himself a propane tank, got into combat while trying to knock people out, managed to sneak the propane tank over to the slumlord's "throne," and then exploded it. And then proceeded to knock people out with hammers and cricket balls for a fresh disguise. XD I love these videos. Really looking forward to Part II!

-->The Sim Supply's last video building a house with SimGuru Romeo. *sigh* All good things must come to an end. . .but hey, at least they got their weird sort-of-bunker-sort-of-industrial-sort-of-modern masterpiece furnished! XD Has a nice bedroom, a home office, and a bathroom with a toilet. What else can you ask for? Except maybe fewer StrangerVille papers lying all over the place. XD It was a hilarious series, and I hope he and Romeo can build again sometime in the future.

-->A few CallMeKevin Sims videos -- I saw the thumbnail for the one for StrangerVille while watching the other stuff, but got sidetracked into a really weird one for Sims 2 on the PS2 (Kevin was baffled by the ability to control a Sim directly, and by how openly raunchy it was -- lots of butts being shoved in faces and sexy growling XD As usual, though, it wasn't long until he was walling Sims up for annoying him XD) and one on Get Famous where Jim Pickens ruins Thorne Bailey's life more than James Turner ever could (killed his wife with an extreme violence mod, moved into his house and moved Orange, Thorne's child, out, adopted a bunch of random kids, then left when he realized Thorne had no money and stuck him with all the children. Then Thorne stabbed himself. It was a bit -- dark. XD) The StrangerVille one was fun too -- Jim's family is living in (or, rather, AROUND) the tiny trailer lot, and Jim has got himself an investigating dog to help him solve the mystery (it has been painted many, many wacky colors XD). A good laugh for the end of the day.

I did also get a very good chunk done on Chapter 16 of "Fixing You" -- Victor's tried to confront and destroy Thirteen, but Alice has stopped him, worried he's about to do the wrong thing. Thirteen's continuing to be creepy at the moment. . .but that's all about to change very soon. Coming up to a pretty important moment of catharsis for poor Victor. At least once he's through it, he's going to be more than ready for the epilogue. :)

And I finished up my Sims pictures for yesterday's playsession and got two of the four updates written! So a productive and fun day. :) Just gotta do the usual inbox emptying now and hit the sheets. Hopefully I'll sleep a little better tonight. . .then again, I've FINALLY gotten my period (after days of twitchy waiting), so maybe that'll help. Gonna be a busy day at work tomorrow, but having a genuinely shorter week (instead of just a few hours nipped off today) should help me deal with that. :) Night all!
