One Of Those Ups And Downs Days
Apr. 3rd, 2019 11:32 pmDowns including having to track down a check that went to the wrong place, playing phone tag with a lady at work about another check, having a sore back a good chunk of the day, and having Outlook not work correctly when I got home (it's not updating in the Windows app -- keeps showing me the same four e-mails I had this morning, not even marked read! -- and when I try to open it in Firefox, it claims there's an error with a script. I finally got it to open in Chrome so I could get my pre-drafted replies for stuff!). Oh, and it being super windy, which makes for some worrying howling outside right now. o.O I thought the wind advisory was only until 9?? I'm seriously starting to wonder if we're going to have some branches down in the morning. . .
Ups, fortunately, were a bit more numerous:
-->Tracked down some OTHER stuff I was looking for at work, so that was helpful. Feels good to make progress on a few things.
-->Got in a walk! Two walks, technically! Before we had the windiest night ever, the temperature spiked into the high 60s! :D So I got in a quick walk around the block for my afternoon break at work, and then, when I came home, me and the family went out to the big local park for a longer hike! It was really nice, even with the breeze picking up. :) Too bad the temperature's supposed to fall again tomorrow. . . Darn up-and-down New England spring.
-->Wrote some more on Chapter 18 Of "Fixing You" -- the final party size for going Downstairs has been set! It's a slightly awkward five -- we have Victor and Alice, Victoria and Christopher, and June all going (as Victor and Alice invited the Whites, then realized that maybe June would want to actually meet her old brother). Fortunately Fixxler always comes prepared with extra eggs. Now I just have to speed them on to sunset! . . .which is coming annoyingly late since it's summer. . .darn need for timeskips in this chapter. Ah well, what can you do. . .
-->Listened to the latest episode of the Discworld podcast I'm now following -- Equal Rites seems to be a favorite among the group. Everybody loves Esk and her determination to master both witch and wizard magic. And Manning happily hinting to the two newbies to the series that there's going to be a lot that ends up coming back in future books is cute. XD Fun stuff!
-->Watched Linkara's April Fools' episode -- a lamp review! Or, well, what WOULD have been a lamp review if we hadn't switched to the universe where Linkara has Phelous's show and was reviewing the horrible anthology film Gallery of Horror. Featuring boring, nonsensical stories of the "supernatural" (including the dumbest take on Dracula ever); John Carradine being wasted as a goofy narrator; and an embarrassing lack of special effects. Can we go back to the lamp review? :p Ah well, Linkara making fun of something is always worth watching.
And, as stated above, I EVENTUALLY got to properly check my e-mails and wrest my replies away from it. Now I just have to finish answering everything that was in the inbox before heading to bed. Hopefully whatever the hell's wrong with it will be fixed in the morning. . .and tomorrow will cause me a little less stress! Night all!
