And We're Back To Shitty Work Days
Apr. 11th, 2019 10:33 pmAnother one of those days where I was being pulled in a million different directions, not helped by the fact I had to keep the GL on hold most of the day as I and a coworker tried to figure out the specific way a certain check had to be put on our system (if it could even be put on at all). And now, by the end of today, it seems that saga still hasn't ended. . . *pinches the bridge of her nose* I absolutely HATE days like today. It's like, I'm juggling all these freaking balls, and everybody wants me for some reason, and I just -- ugh. Hopefully tomorrow won't be a repeat.
Fortunately, the evening was a bit better, if only because of one thing: Chapter 18 of "Fixing You" is officially up! Available on FF.net and AO3! Which means "Fixing You" is officially done! :D w0000~ It's been a heck of a ride, but it feels good to finally finish up. :D Hopefully you all find that final chapter satisfying!
Since the editing on that took a while, I didn't have much time for the vidyas tonight. Fortunately, my subscriptions were pretty quiet -- just one video from The Sim Supply (and roommate Zeuz) looking at more cool builds on the gallery. There was a pretty awesome hobbit hole home; a very nice public "beach" in the desert; a sort of split house with lots of skylights; a 70s-style house with a cool roof but a few building glitches; a big old mansion with tons of bedrooms and a home gym; and a FLOATING CASTLE LOT (I don't know how they did it, but it was coool -- if very inconvenient to live in if your Sims don't have the ability to teleport up the massive amount of stairs). I made a note of the beach lot to look for later -- might be a cool addition to my own library.
I also snuck in a quick video from Outside XBox -- games that waste no time in trying to off your player character. Notoriously difficult games like Dark Souls (with the Asylum Demon opening boss you're actually supposed to RUN past but will probably still get you a few times) and I Wanna Be The Guy Gaiden (want to get killed in the level select?) of course made the list, but there was also a mention of Penn and Teller's never-officially-released video game's "Impossible" mode (the two get killed in the opening cutscene, as "Impossible" means impossible), and a creepy procedural Lovecraftian survival horror (made by Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation no less), where there's the option to just kill yourself on the title screen. (In my usual fashion, I found the clips shown in the video to be a) freaky and b) fascinating. Hells, maybe do an LP and use your humor to undercut the horror just enough for me to enjoy it without risking nightmares?)
And most of my time since has been catching up on websites and getting queues sorted on VictorLuvsAlice and Valice Multiverse. Time to finish off with some inbox cleaning and hit the sheets. At least tomorrow's Friday. . .hopefully this can all get sorted sooner rather than later. Just have to remember, long weekend next week. . . Night all!
