No Bowling, Just Flowers
May. 11th, 2019 11:26 pmBasically, I thought this weekend was going to consist of us going bowling in the morning today, then going to get flowers tomorrow, Mother's Day. Instead it appears the plan was to do both things today, as tomorrow's weather is going to be iffy -- and this morning Mom nixed the bowling thing because she didn't want to juggle that, the flower run, and going to work (it's one of her weekend shifts this week). Which was probably a smart idea, as getting the flowers she wanted and then getting them planted took up a good chunk of the morning. We got some pretty stuff, though, including a new rose bush! Our yard is looking very nice these days. :) And it was a perfect day to grab plants and stick them in the ground -- high 60s/low 70s, bright blue skies, and just -- perfect spring day. It's hard to imagine that's going to go from that to low 50s and rainy for the next week, but -- *sigh* New England spring for you. At least I got out and about plenty today, what with helping to gather flowers and getting in a walk later on.
This does mean that I was pretty late getting on the computer -- no gaming today. I did manage to knock out a few videos from my Watch Later queue, though:
-->Two Kubz Scouts videos, one about him randomly ranking characters in Yandere Simulator with a "tier maker" (Kokona, Midiori, Budo, the Nurse, Senpai, and Osana all made S rank, the best rank, which I agree with -- the first three are fan favorites, the last two are the most important game characters apart from Ayano herself, and the Nurse -- well, Jay just likes her :p), and a 60 Seconds video made just because Jay missed the game and wanted to see if he could still get an ending (he did! . . .on his second attempt, because he ran out of time during the supply gathering phase on the first one and died before the game really began :p But yeah, he successfully kept Timmy and Dolores alive until the military turned up to rescue them).
-->The latest Atop The Fourth Wall episode, which was Street Fighter: The Official Comic Adaptation of the Official Movie Adaptation of the Game. :p The comic was ALMOST a good adaptation of the incredibly cheesy movie starring the wonderful Raul Julia (guy was dying of cancer while making the film and still insisted on DOING HIS OWN STUNTS), let down by a few unnecessary changes to some lines and HORRENDOUS 90s artwork. A shame. Still, it's probably going to be better than the upcoming episode's topic -- a comic adaptation of Halle Berry's Catwoman movie. Meep.
-->And in my subscriptions, watched Helloween's latest Secret of Mana 2 set. The gang has traveled to the Island of Oblivion and opened up the way to the Mana Holyland! . . .Which ended up in the sky. And all three major villain factions promptly found ways to fly into the portal. -.- Fortunately, the gang was able to find a friendly Flammie dragon to take them through and acquire the Sword of Mana! (Beating the shit out of constant swarms of rabbites along the way, which was more amusing than it had any right to be.) And then two of the three evil guys ended up being defeated by various means off-screen, meaning all we have left to deal with is Angela's mother! We think, anyway. . .we haven't even had our second class change yet, so I think it's a bit early to expect a final boss fight. We'll see what happens when the group finally confronts the Queen of Reason!
I also managed to edit both my gift fics for this upcoming week (fortunately both are fairly short), and get up the next Scene From Secundus: The Origin Of Ferdinand Gigs, you'll probably recognize this one ;) Or, well, sort of, I did end up editing it ^^; Look, I originally wrote it back in 2012, I thought it needed some punching up!
And now I'm doing a bit of the RP thing on tumblr -- gotta pop up some comments for the Dreamwidth stuff. At least I've gotten my queue for the next couple of days sorted on Victor Luvs Alice too. . . Definitely gotta get back to Sims tomorrow -- maybe I can figure out a way to double up and hit Fallout 4 too. Also chip away some more at my video list -- don't want it to grow completely out of hand. Especially with no long weekends for another couple of weeks to help me catch up. . . We'll see what happens, though. As noted before, time is my eternal enemy, as is distraction. . . but fingers crossed I can at least catch up on The Sim Supply's stuff!
For now, though, comments. Night all!
