Mini Golf Saturday
Jun. 1st, 2019 11:27 pmYes, today was the day of the grand outing! We left around 11:30 (I had to change the sheets on my bed before we went), got to West End Creamery (in Mass) by around 12. Dad paid for the mini-golf side of things -- poor guy actually had one of the worst games he's ever had, while Mom and I had a couple of the best. Both of us got a hole in one on the same hole! Admittedly with the help of the nearby water feature -- turns out if you hit your ball into the water, and it goes down the right bit of the grate at the end, it'll just roll right into the cup. XD Mom ended up beating me after I had a couple of bad holes near the end of the game, but it was a close one! Then I paid for the ice cream -- Mom just had a simple coffee on a cake cone, while Dad and I both indulged in sundaes. I got a brownie sundae with chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream -- absolutely delicious. They make a good brownie there. Hell, they just make a good sundae there. :D
After that, we ended up just riding around the area for a while, enjoying the nice day. Went through a nearby state park that was really pretty -- wouldn't mind going up there for a hike at some point (depending on the prices -- I think out-of-state cars get charged a little more than in-state ones). Then we stopped at a flea market so my parents could browse for a minute and see if they wanted anything (they didn't -- kind of junky stuff in there, really). It was a nice time, really -- good to get out in the fresh air and just drive around some. Even if we didn't end up getting back to the house until about 3.
Which means my PLANNED schedule of doing Sims and watching a bunch of Bloodlines 2 videos kiiiind of went up in smoke. ^^; Not helped by me getting distracted by tumblr blogs and fanfics. . .plus two new riddles videos from Kubz Scouts and Gloom (what can I say, I love watching them get all super-dramatic and giggly over how ridiculous said riddles are). I did watch one of the Outstar videos in the queue -- one about character creation for the V5 version of Vampire: the Masquerade, which was pretty neat. It was interesting to see what's changed from the classic V:tM that I remember from my childhood, and what's been expanded on. (You can actually choose how your vampire typically feeds now, as an example -- and it'll give you various bonuses and demerits as a result on your sheet!) I also checked out a video on a fan-made Sims 4 stuff pack I've been interested in downloading, "Cottage Garden Stuff" -- said video made it look really nice, so I went ahead and got the zip file -- along with "Pufferhead Stuff," as I've been meaning to get that for a while. I haven't actually INSTALLED either yet, nor the new "Better Exceptions" script mod I picked up, though -- part of me is like "maybe we should wait until after the inevitable new patch in June? Because they're announcing something at EA Play which is very soon?" Seems at least semi-logical. . .we'll see how I feel tomorrow. I really do want to start using more of the cool custom content and mods I've seen around. Just everything takes so long to update after a patch. . .
I did also get some writing done -- finished up a snippet from my Londerland Bloodlines document that's been sitting around for a while (Alice discussing her and Victor's relationship with Mercurio, and him encouraging Alice to bond Victor as her ghoul because A) they genuinely love each other, meaning their relationship is less fucked-up then is normal between a vampire and their ghoul; B) because Victor is a VIP ghoul to LA's Kindred and it's WAY better for him to be in thrall to someone who genuinely loves him than someone who just wants to USE him), and got another one of Gigs's old gift fics up on "Scenes From Secundus." Unlike last week, I managed to keep the rewriting just to "let's adjust some of this dialogue and some of these descriptions" as opposed to "let's basically write a whole new fic with the same general premise." XD I did update the title, though -- it's gone from "Everything Begins Somewhere" to "The Berkians Must Be Doing Backflips." (It's the Christmas 2015 one where I had Hiccup levitate Berk as a joke on the mobile game were both into at the time, DragonVale.) So that was good, at least!
And now I'm trying to coordinate tumblr conversations and RP stuff -- gotta answer some comments and all of that. Tomorrow, bowling! AFTER lunch for a change -- not sure what I'm going to do when I don't end up starving after a round. XD But yeah, gonna have to use my morning a little more effectively than I did today. . . Hopefully I can fit in SOME video gaming! And at least a couple more Bloodlines videos. . . Night all!
