crossover_chick: gif of Doc gasping (BTTF: EEK)
I ended up doing a lot of "okay, I don't want to watch these videos/play any games because we might be going out soon" tumblr blog and casual fanfic-reading today. . .and we never even got to the bowling alley. My parents ended up spending the morning doing yardwork, leading to a later-than-I-expected lunch -- and then, when we were just about to get on the road at 3, Mom looked up the alley and found it was closed. Turns out they have summer hours, and those summer hours are 4PM to 10PM. Which -- TECHNICALLY I guess we still could have gone, but neither Mom nor Dad seemed keen on it, figuring all the league bowlers and such would be taking up all the lanes. And in this particular case, we were also having spare ribs for supper, which takes up a lot of cooking time, so. . .yeah. Seems like bowling in general will be out for the summer, unless my parents want to do a suppertime session. *sigh* And THEN I got semi-caught-up in ANOTHER fanfic, and then I took my walk (since I had time for it and it was nice out), and then I had to shower, then it was supper, and -- yeah. Another day with no video games, and none of the videos I have in my Watch Later queue getting watched. *facepalm* Can I get a do-over on today, please? Just with the foreknowledge that no, I'm not going to get interrupted mid-Sims 4 or Fallout 4 by lunch?

I did at least get some things done:

-->Watched another Kubz Scouts Yandere Simulator video: a teaser of a new opening cutscene for the game, and playing around with a tweak to people witnessing crimes -- if enough of them see you with a body or having committed a crime, without the opportunity to take you down then and there, they'll report you to the police and you'll get arrested. You need to have at least 5 eyewitnesses, though -- something Jay struggled with. :p

-->Watched The Sim Supply's latest video, where he showed off out-of-the-box base game Sims 3! I guess because he's still struggling for content (he seems to have completely given up on the Mad Scientist Let's Play, sadly) and it HAS been ten years since that game came out. That game still looks utterly atrocious to me, and I don't much care about the open world aspects of it -- but after seeing Create-A-Style in action, I can see why people miss it. And I still don't understand why we can choose favorite food, music genre, and color for Sims 3 Sims, but not Sims 4 ones. Let me customize my babies further than walk styles and traits! *sigh* I like Sims 4, I genuinely do, but. . .they could have done better.

-->Watched Helloween's latest Secret of Mana 2 set, where the gang flew to the Molebear Highlands and faced down the God-Beast of Earth! Which was a much easier fight than good old Dolan last week, that's for sure. A tough boss who was kind of hard to hit, but didn't constantly bring the entire party to the brink of death. The walk to the God-Beast was easier too -- tough enemies, but with less horrible slaughtering of our PCs. Helloween thinks it might be a good place to snag some levels in the future. At any rate, there's five God-Beasts to go, and hopefully a class change in the nearish future. Looking forward to it!

-->Got all my pictures for this week's Newcrest Adventures update sorted, because if I'm not playing Sims 4, I can at least get THAT ready. Hell, I even got the first post in the tumblr queue, go me. I can be productive and prepared occasionally. :P

-->Wrote another chunk on "Secundus 2" -- completely threw out a good portion of the chapter I'm currently in because it was just rehashing stuff we already know and that the characters should also already know from an earlier scene. Instead, decided to take the opportunity to PROPERLY set up the ending bit by having Victor explicitly chose to put his Grasshopper Teapot in Doc's train in the McFly barn in the house that Jack built so it can't run off. And set up the second half of the chapter, where he's worrying about the kind of person he is, and as a result the kind of father he'll be, a little better too. This story's been a little touch and go with the inspiration, but I like the bit I came up with tonight. Hopefully I can keep it up as the summer goes on!

And now I have some RP stuff to answer, then bed. Another week of work looms. . .at least one of the days is shorter than the rest, so that'll be nice. Maybe THEN I can at least sneak in some of those videos I've been meaning to watch. . .night all!
