Quietest Tuesday In A While
Jun. 4th, 2019 11:02 pmI was a little worried this morning on the ride in that it was going to be a rough day -- traffic backed up on both the main drag AND the highway. But once I actually got into work, it was pretty good! Super-quiet day -- the phone rang like three times, and I had one guy visit me to drop off a check, but other than that. . . Did the GL, got a bunch of ID numbers looked up, a few bundles of checks put on, got the mail. . . Pretty simple day. Helped quite a bit by getting to leave early -- and the ride home was good too. Only hit some traffic once I was back on the main road, and even then that was just kids getting out of school -- something that I won't have to put up with for much longer. :D Ah, I like a good solid easy ride. . .
Afternoon was nice too -- I'd INTENDED to watch my Bloodlines 2 videos, but then I had a thought: "If I'm doing the rest of my Newcrest Adventures updates for tumblr today, perhaps I should focus on Sims stuff? I mean, The Sim Supply has another part of his Sims 2 LP here, and I've been meaning to watch the rest of Deli's build of the creepy orphanage she made. . ." So yeah, I swapped to a Sims-themed day. Watched James's Sim 2 LP first -- Doona has been sent off to college, and James had her make very rapid friends with a bunch of secret society members to gain access to their Resurrect-O-Nomitron phone and pay the big bucks to get her brother Brentnall back. So now Brentnall is now among the living again, yay! And promptly falling back into his womanizer habits, as the first thing he tried to do upon being resurrected was hit on his stalker Jasmyn. XD James made him stop and hug his sister first. So yeah, now both Brentnall and Doona are in college! I wonder if James is going to succumb to the temptation to have YET ANOTHER kid now that there's actually some space in the Grumpert's crappy house. XD
After I finished up supper, I swapped over to Deli for the rest of the night -- finished her playlist on building the creepy orphanage, yay! It actually came out pretty awesomely, I have to say -- got a nice overgrown garden with its own cemetery, the "fancy" level for visitors (lounge, office, kitchen, and dining), the "okay" level for the headmistress, her child (either her own or favorite of the orphans) and a music room, and the "meh" level for the rest of the children's beds, the classroom, and the communal baths. And then the "secret" level with the "naughty/different" child's room, a laundry, and butler's quarters. I just love the design of the house in general -- part of me wants to download it and renovate it into a fancy family home, or maybe just stick it in a neighborhood somewhere and see who moves in. XD I also checked out a video she made of revisiting some of her earliest saves -- it was very cute to see her geeking out over her favorite characters of yesteryear, and talking about how she's changed as a Simmer. Makes me a little sad that I don't have old save files I can revisit like that. . .the only old save I have is my "nearly quit the game because culling was so bad it wiped Geeker's girlfriend right before I had her move in" save. Not really interested in revisiting that one, honestly. ^^;
I did finish my Newcrest Adventures updates amid all this video watching, happily -- four posts, whew. I also did my writing -- more new stuff on "Secundus 2," as Victor flees the basement where he and his friends are currently sleeping, only to be caught by a "needing the outhouse" Marty. And, again, because he got his support network in the last story and actually feels like he can talk to people without them hating him (though he is VERY worried about that still -- having a few "shit, if I explain what's going on my head, will they despise me?" Forgotten-Vows-style moments), he's unburdening himself. It's kind of heavy stuff, but Marty will help him through it. He's a good guy like that. I also got my Valice Multiverse queue sorted, so that's all set for another day. Been a good night for keeping on top of stuff! MAJOR change from last night, which I appreciate.
And now to clear out the last comments in my inbox and see if I can't get to bed a skoosh earlier. Need my sleep after all -- still got three full days of work to get through. Hopefully the drive in will be better tomorrow. . .at any rate, good night!
