crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Yeah, it was kind of gray and gloomy, spitting rain, and Dad had nowhere in particular he wanted to go, so it was just a "hang about the house" day. He really liked the card I found him yesterday, though, and the gift Mom and I got him -- a new flashlight! The old one's bulb burned out, and he couldn't find a replacement, so we decided to get him a better, brighter model. He's very pleased with it so far, so that's great. :) We also had salmon for supper at his request, and hot fudge sundaes with blondies, so that was nice. :)

Rest of the day was pretty good too:

-->Played Sims early to keep my buffer going through the patch this week -- mostly cute domestic stuff from the McFly family. Douglas met a fellow kid and fulfilled an aspiration milestone, thus also completing his resolution; Marlene maxed her movement skill; Marlene SOMEHOW got stuck behind the stairs and I had to break down a few walls temporarily to release her *sigh*; Marty released a track made from the music mixing table and got signed to the Dinky Beats label; Douglas got his first Voidcritter card and trained it; Marty and Jennifer hit the gym for a while as they've been developing distinct "parent bods;" and the dryer broke again but after that we actually managed to complete a few laundry cycles without issue. :P Fun enough stuff, and we've got Egg Day coming up the next time I play! So that'll be nice. :) Just hope all my mods are updated fairly quickly. . .

-->Marathoned Deli's Island Living videos -- general gameplay, CAS, a special video just on mermaids, and build and buy mode. Good stuff which makes me feel like I got a decent overview of the pack! As usual, women get nicer clothes than guys, but that is an inequality I've had to get used to. Mermaids look really cool too. :D The tail options are lovely and come in lots of fun colors, and they have special songs they can sing to entrance Sims. No levels or selectable powers, though, from what I can see. So basically they work more like aliens than vampires, which is cool. I'm sure witches will work more like the latter -- or, at least, they'd better. Don't disappoint me, Realm of Magic!

-->Also watched The Sim Supply's latest episode of Super Sim -- in keeping with his "I'm going to have a kid because I think it's funny for some reason and then I'll bitch about it endlessly later when I'm expected to actually LOOK AFTER them" modus operandi as of late, Myra has successfully seduced Clement Frost and is now pregnant with Father Winter's baby. XD We've also aged up Baby and Names Power from toddlers to children, and gotten Max another promotion. And just BARELY stopped Max from aging up into an adult -- James finally noticed his life bar for Young Adult was at the end at basically the very last minute. Honestly, given he's fallen back into his "play everything at three times speed and forget stuff from one episode" ways, I was kind of hoping Max would age up, just to teach him a lesson about paying more attention. *sigh* I like you, James, but you're a bit annoying sometimes with your playstyle. (Though I AM PMSing currently, so take all comments with a grain of salt.)

-->Finished up another chapter in "Secundus 2" -- the next villain POV section, with Gordon and Buford arguing who's at fault for their little "steal Doc's horse" plan going tits-up, and Barkis reminding them who's the scariest one in this trio of evil. Also setting up their return at the town festival in a couple of days. The compressed time frame of this story DOES make me feel like I'm not using this lot enough before the climax, but I'm not really sure how to fix it. . .I mean, it's literally a week from start to finish for the Hill Valley section, just like in BTTF III. I'll keep fiddling, I suppose, see what else I can do.

-->Moved onto Helloween's latest set of Secret of Mana 2 -- or, as it will be called in the remake coming out next year, Trials of Mana! Helloween is excite :D He is not excite by the ninjas and sword masters in the fiery cave of fire, though -- we nearly had a total party wipe to one of the latter, and one of the former ACTUALLY SUCCEEDED in killing them all when Helloween went back in after killing the God-Beast for levels. The God-Beast itself was kind of a pushover -- and a lame design. Just a sort of dragon/bird head surrounded by flame sprites. I think they spent a bit more time on certain bosses than others. . . Anyway, Helloween whacked and cast his way to victory, and then got the necessary levels to get everyone their second class change! After the usual amount of menu awkwardness, of course. Angela is a Rune Master, Duran a Duelist, and Carlie an Evil Shaman. No, seriously, it's right in the name. XD Hopefully this leads to the increased attack power they'll need to wipe out the remaining God-Beasts! And all the other villains too. . .

-->And then finished up with more riddles from Jay and Kassie (surprisingly dark ones about kidnapped children on the menu today, mixed in with the goofier stuff); Jay reacting to the new Yandere Simulator opening cutscene (as you might imagine, it's a bit gory, though it does an excellent job at summing up Ayano's character and what kind of game you're playing); CallMeKevin playing a Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban game which includes minigames using the "eyetoy" (motion control thing, which Kevin was not very good at and found very annoying -- not that the main game was much better); and Kevin also doing a "Wonderbook" Harry Potter game with the Playstation move -- you have a fake book that becomes a book of spells in the game (where you actually turn the pages to progress), and the Move stick becomes a wand (Kevin also found this one very frustrating, mostly because it was very hard to get the game to register his movements. He managed chapter 1 in the end, but it was a trial).

And, as usual, I'm scrambling a bit to catch up with things at the end of the night. Oh, time management, why do you elude me so. . .well, just gotta take care of a thing, and then I'm hitting the sheets. Three day week for me, yay! Now I just have to hope my Thursday trip to the aquarium doesn't get rained out. . . Night all!
