Chill Wednesday
Aug. 7th, 2019 11:08 pmNot in terms of weather -- another hot & muggy one today, and tomorrow is apparently more of the same, blech -- but work was another pretty quiet day. Finished gathering all the paperwork I needed for that project coming up, did some reversals, ended with a few merges. Nothing too exciting. Hey, I'll take it -- don't make me pay for a long weekend with extra stress beforehand, world!
Afternoon's been pretty chill too, consisting mainly of:
-->Writing another chunk on "Secundus 2" -- the festival's vibe is pretty hostile for our mains now, so they're making plans to leave. Doc's off with Clara, and the rest of them are discussing possible Tannen intrusions on Marty's future wedding. We're on the verge of a guilt attack from Victor, poor guy. :( Also on the verge of Barkis Bittern losing his patience with Buford and Gordon, which should be interesting. . .
-->Finding a bunch of posts to toss into my drafts on tumblr so I can seed them into my queue as necessary -- Magical Monday is set for a while, but I've been lacking on content for other days. (Thought: would be nice to be able to group stuff in my drafts by the day I'm intending to post it.)
-->Having a mini-Call Me Kevin marathon:
A) Kevin visits his own subreddit to see the latest dank memes about himself and reminisce over past glories (including a brief clip from fellow Irish YouTuber RT Gamer playing Akinator and the game guessing he's Kevin -- cue me going to watch the whole video after I'm done with this one). Would you believe people are cosplaying Jim Pickens now? And doing a really good job of it too.
B) Kevin plays more Minecraft in his little world -- he's made it back to civilization! And then civilization didn't want to talk to him, so he went around chasing cats and throwing salmon at them to make them his pets. After that was a trip into the Nether, which ended with him getting horribly lost and narrowly avoiding many terrible deaths. Got some nice horse armor though! And a new horse to display it on, so his old horse will get jealous. Minecraft!Kevin isn't QUITE as twisted as Sims 4!Kevin, but he's trying.
C) Kevin plays a different form of Minecraft -- an adventure map called Skygrind! This is essentially a series of basic survival quests, all completed on a growing archipelago of various strange little islands floating in the sky. Somehow Kevin managed to avoid falling to his doom, killed a bunch of monsters, and even completed most of the starter quests! He's even got some cows in a very narrow pen on the side of his "home" island. XD Hey, he's doing better than my mildly-acrophobic ass would!
D) Kevin plays more Minecraft: Story Mode, the perhaps-not-particularly-good Telltale game. The gang has found a new hero from the old Order -- Magnus, King of the Griefers! Kevin likes him because he's a jerk obsessed with blowing stuff up. XD There was also the return of the villain Ivor, who did some pretty hilarious super-speed stuff during a climatic sword battle. XD Such a dumb game, but I love Kevin taking the piss out of it and trying his hardest to get the protagonist killed. :P
(Yes, that is a lot of Minecraft-related content -- I'm not sure how it shook out that way either.)
And -- that and catching up on webcomics and the like is pretty much it, honestly. Chill Wednesday indeed! Just gonna take care of the last thing in the inbox and hit the sheets. Day and a half of work to get through. . .hopefully it all goes well. Night all!
