Another Fairly Quiet Day
Sep. 4th, 2019 10:04 pmThough we did get a few calls that related to the training in credit cards and suchlike we'll be getting tomorrow, which was weird. But convenient, I suppose. Anyway, spent the morning catching up on a few things I didn't get to last night, and then the afternoon doing obituaries, to help keep that from becoming a horror pile. Made the day go by pretty fast, which was nice. Hopefully Thursday and Friday will be more of the same -- though Friday's probably going to feel long no matter what, simply because it's the first full-length one after summer. *sigh* Ah well, gotta roll with the punches.
Evening was fairly low-key, if only because there was a threat of thunderstorms for a while (clouded up, heard one fairly epic rumble. . .and then it all pissed off. Yay?). Did a short exercise video to avoid the weather (even without the thunderstorms, it was annoyingly humid, yech), had supper, and then:
-->Wrote some more on "Secundus 2" -- Marty joined Doc and Victor, they talked a bit more about how shit it is Marty feels the need to carry a gun at his own wedding -- and now there's been a scream that Victor's going to recognize as Emily. . .climax ho! Courtesy of Barkis being even better at sneaking around than anyone expected. Don't worry, he's getting his.
-->Watched James's latest video -- on Planet Zoo. Yup, not a peep about the latest Sims 4 livestream. I thought he would have been all over the customizable stairs? But no, it appears his heart has been captured by a zoo-building game with beautiful graphics and realistic animal behaviors. (Up to and including how they poop. Yes, really.) I noticed a few clipping issues in the gameplay James featured, but the game itself looks fun, and James is clearly super into it. Apparently part of the reason he changed his name on his main channel was so he wouldn't feel quite so locked into doing just Sims content all the time, and he could branch out and do other stuff. Like various sims with a small "s!" XD But hey, it does look like a good game -- I'd be up for watching an LP, if he loves it so.
-->This was followed by two Call Me Kevin videos. From James improving animal habitats to Kevin imprisoning villagers and building them an exercise yard full of doors so they'd breed and make another little villager! And then killing one of the older villagers because they'd glitched out, making the other villagers mad and upping their prices for trading. And then digging for ores and such in the hole underneath the prison yard. And then realizing he'd left his horse Shit back at the old village and having to navigate the Nether he'd so painstakingly cut to pieces to get him back. And then hunting Endermen who refused to drop their eyes. And then enchanting a bow so it kills zombies in one hit. Kevin plays Minecraft, everyone!
And then the second video was him playing a truly awful fanmade Harry Potter game, "Harry Obby." "Obby" being short for "Obstacles," don't you know! I think the idea was that it was supposed to be a rough adaptation of the third book, with the player character navigating obstacle courses to collect cards and advance the plot. . .but in practice? Exactly ONE character model for everyone (meaning everyone, even the ladies, was a vaguely buff dude variously sized-up or sized-down); moon-jumping meaning it was near-impossible to actually complete any of the courses, and hilariously horrible voice clips that provided Kevin with much entertainment as he knocked people over and threw snakes at them. XD
-->And after that I caught up on webcomics and did my Victor Luvs Alice queue for the rest of the week, yay~ So that was good. Feeling ahead of the game! (Out of necessity as we're going out this Saturday, so long as the weather holds, but still.) And now it's time to finish up what's in my inbox and hit the sheets. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better weather-wise, and pretty much exactly the same work-wise. I'll take this current level of low stress for a while plzkthnx. Night all!
