Back To Work And -- Not That Stressful?
Sep. 3rd, 2019 10:04 pmYeah, apparently it was SUPER QUIET while I was out -- I saw something in my e-mail that looked like it was a problem, but I think it got resolved while I was away. And there were a few things in the inbox that needed to be taken care of, but -- overall, it really wasn't that bad? The most stressful thing (a report that needed redoing) happened at the very end of the day, so -- yeah. Color me surprised. I was expecting a pile of work on my desk. O.o Guess I'll just enjoy it while it lasts. . .
Anyway, here's how the rest of my day went:
-->Got in both a walk at lunch and a walk after work -- very nice day out! Though it is an AC night, simply because it isn't supposed to cool down much, and tomorrow's supposed to be hotter and stickier. I will definitely take this weather over what's going on over near Florida, though -- cripes, the poor Bahamas. . . :(
-->Wrote some more on "Secundus 2" -- Doc and Victor discussing his attraction to Clara, which is the main thing preventing him from just going with Victor and company back to Secundus to keep out of Buford's way for a while. Given what's going to happen later in the chapter, buddy, wanting to be with Clara is less of an issue than you think when it comes to moving. :p
-->Kind of a Sims night when it came to videos -- you'd THINK because of reactions to the latest Maxis Monthly livestream, but James didn't have anything up! Huh. . . I did find a short video from Carl's Sims Guides summarizing the new additions coming with the latest patch -- some new build/buy mode items (including more lounge chairs and a gnome that you can actually place things on, plus some Middle-Eastern doors and windows), some Muslim-themed CAS items (a hijab, some traditional knitted shirts -- nice to see more cultural variety!), and the big change -- customizable stairs. You can make them zig, you can make them zag, you can make them turn around on each other. . . I imagine the building community's gonna be THRILLED with this one!
I also watched Deli show off a new fanmade stuff pack that'll be out for public release in October ("Kichen Stuff," which is naturally all about the kitchen -- new counter with tons of swatches, new matching fridge and stove and dishwasher, lots of nice little plants, and plenty of cool decor -- including stackable plates and bowls! So that's neat), and TWO new GrayStillPlays Sim challenges. One where cowardly Sims were forced to live in a mansion full of ghosts (it took surprisingly long for anyone to die!), and one where elderly Sims of various fitness levels were forced to run on treadmills until they died (ended hilariously with the last survivor, Bill Cosplay, just VANISHING into thin air as his fellow Sims were being reaped. Gray was as confused as anyone). XD Damn, I'm really starting to love these videos. . .he's almost as cruel a Sims God as Kevin! I also checked out one of his other videos, where he COMPLETELY BROKE all the roads in his Cities: Skylines city with mods that didn't limit how far down he could build. Cue glitching-out roads descending into the void beneath the map, roads overlapping each other, Gray managing to zone the place for HOUSES, HOUSES ACTUALLY BEING BUILT ALONG THESE NON-EUCLIDEAN NIGHTMARES. . .it was great. :D Looking forward to more of his stuff!
And currently I'm just taking care of my Valice Multiverse queue, getting ready to clear up some comments -- the usual. Three more days of work to get through, then Canobie as long as the weather holds! Plus I'll have fresh Realm of Magic livestream info to look forward to on Friday. . .should be a nice weekend. :p But gotta get through the rest of the week first -- night all!
