Going Away Party Went Well
Sep. 26th, 2019 11:09 pmThere was a worrying bit of time where it looked like the guest of honor was going to have to go home early from a migraine, but she ended up staying, so we had the lunch as intended. She was very grateful, and we all enjoyed the food, including my cupcakes. :) Plus there's plenty of leftovers, so I don't have to take a lunch again tomorrow! (Though I probably should take a root beer -- we did drink most of the good soda today.) And the rest of the day was fairly quiet -- got those batches I wanted to get done, done, and some other stuff sorted besides, so that was good. Now I just have to get through one more day, and it's the weekend again, yay~
Evening's been all right, if rainy -- storm blew in while I was coming home, though the actual rain didn't start until I was back. (Good thing too, as ONCE AGAIN I was fighting miserable traffic today. They're still tearing up the main drag, and the highway was a slow mess as well. . .) I ended up reading a TV Tropes article before supper, which as you might guess ate up a lot of time real fast. :p But I did get some productive things done as well:
-->Such as nearly two pages on "Secundus 2." :D Yeah, that's going well in the endgame -- I think the beginning and ends of the fic have been the smoothest parts to write for me, probably because they contain the scenes that were clearest in my head. At any rate, we're up to Victor waiting on the birth of his son, and being an anxious noodle about it (unsurprising, given that's his baseline state). His friends (including Jennifer and Clara) are doing their best to distract him, but that's only going to work for so long. . .
-->YouTube consisted of a "Fun With Shorts" on Law And Social Controls (aka the story of some teens deciding to close their canteen earlier on weekdays because all the other businesses do, because at least one member thinks they shouldn't be staying out so late anyway, and because they don't want to have an official "curfew" law passed); and a short Call Me Kevin Marathon:
A) Kevin dates Colonel Sanders! No, seriously, this is a REAL GAME that KFC ACTUALLY MADE. It's honestly pretty hilarious, made even more so when Kevin decides his character is going to be Ronald MacDonald. He also got a super-quick game over by refusing to wake up when his alarm went off, LOL. XD End-game was earning the Colonel's love, but not his respect, as Kevin was not a great chef. But then again, he was being taught by a literal dog, sooo. . .
B) Kevin and friends build train tracks! This was a cooperative game, Unrailed, where you have to build the track to get a train from one end of the map to the other -- WHILE THE TRAIN IS MOVING. Think a slower-paced version of that one scene from The Wrong Trousers with Wallace and Gromit, with four people instead of just one. And these four people are constantly getting in each other's way or criticizing each other's ideas about where the train should go. Culminating in a frustrated Kevin asking why they can't just WALK there. XD Good stuff.
C & D) Kevin plays a wizard card game! Specifically, he's in Magic: The Gathering Arena, which is one of those online collectible card games (like Hearthstone, which is the one I'm most familiar with as that's the one I actually played for a while some years ago). One was uploaded just today, the other at the beginning of the year, and in both, Kevin was trying to create the most annoying deck possible. XD Dunno how much he succeeded, but he suffered some painful losses, and a few grand victories (protip: flying zombies always work XD). Fun! :D
-->Got my Song Saturday sorted -- remembered a song I liked and threw it up as a reblog, because why not? Sometimes you gotta go the easy route. :p And I got my Valice Multiverse queue sorted too, hooray~ So that's all good.
And now it's time to answer what I can in my inbox and go to bed. One more day to get through. . .but it'll be easier with cupcakes. :p Night all!
