Last Of The Cupcakes Friday
Sep. 27th, 2019 11:34 pmFour came home with me -- all vanilla, since I ate one of the last chocolate ones for a snack today, and my coworkers claimed the others remaining. The vanilla ones are fine, though, and they have nice frosting. Mom and Dad just tried one each, with the verdict being "good, but not as good as Mom's." :p Which, you know, is just a given, but. . . So now there's two left, one with chocolate frosting, one with vanilla. Will probably nom on one tomorrow. We also have cookies -- I took home the three spares from the cookie platter (two absurdly large chocolate peanut butter chip discs, and a more traditional M&M cookie), and Mom ended up making her own chocolate chip cookies, so -- yeah, definitely not lacking in the sweets department! Feels like a good way to see out September, at least. :p
Work was all right -- pretty quiet for the most part, which I liked. Also managed to get a bunch of stuff corrected that has been sitting on my desk. Couldn't actually talk to the person who gave me the stuff, as it turns out she's out of the office for a good week, but at least the things that needed to be fixed are fixed. (We hope.) And the traffic to work wasn't a complete nightmare! From work. . .well, it was okay until I got to the off ramp home. MAJOR traffic on the main drag today, and I don't know why. There wasn't even any roadwork this time! *grrr* Ah well, I'm home now and I shouldn't have to worry about it for a couple of days.
Anyway, evening consisted of:
-->A walk, though it might be my last after-work walk -- I wore long pants and used some bug spray to keep away any mosquitoes, but the GNATS were out in force! Freaking clouds of them! Even if the sun hasn't quite gotten to the point of setting around five, having to deal with all those bugs might be sufficient to keep me indoors. At least on the weekends I can go out a bit earlier for a while longer. . .
-->Another page on "Secundus 2" -- confirming that, yes, Barkis is finally out of the group's life for good, and that Marty and Jennifer have a place of their own. They did have to crash at Doc's for a bit, but fortunately they managed to find a flat fast. Good, because that apartment above the shop just barely fit three. . . Almost to the big event now! And what I hope is Victor's rather amusing reaction. . .
-->A Simming night when it comes to videos, including:
A) LGR's review of Realm of Magic, which can be summed up as, "It's kind of game-breaking and not exactly my style, but if you're into this sort of thing it is a LOT of fun." Which, combined with a good review from a friend of mine, has finally convinced me to get the damn thing. It's probable that I'm not going to get far enough IN magic to trigger any of the top-level bugs yet, and there are some band-aid mods, so. . .
B) LilSimsie remaking another Realm of Magic house, which -- well, this one had enough doors and all that, but embarrassingly empty bedrooms and a toilet roll ABOVE THE TOILET. Like, what. Her new version was much better and looked much cooler in general, but I still don't like how she doesn't take the family's financial situation into account when she does these redesigns. Meeeh. But it does look awesome (though I admit to being a sucker for houses with towers), and watching her complain is good for absorbing building tips for my own stuff, I guess.
C) Plumbella going on an alpha (aka more realistic-looking) custom content binge and making a sim and going through some interesting items in build/buy. I'm more of a fan of Maxis Match myself, but she did find some nice stuff, I gotta say. Including one stand-out item for me -- what looked to be a copy of the old Sims 2 small telescope! In WORKING ORDER! I mean, the giant observatory is amusing and all, but having a small normal object for lots where you can't fit that is also good. I might have to track that one, or something similar, down. . .
-->Getting my Valice Multiverse queue sorted and answering a bunch of tumblr messages, as you do on Friday nights. (And almost every other night, depending.)
And now I just have to answer a comment and see what's going on with the Friday Night Writing thing. Tomorrow's a cleaning the room day, meeeh. But it's also a Fallout 4 day. . .and two long videos of OXBox playing Hitman 2 day. So THAT'LL be nice. :D Night all!
