crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Well, "weekend" busy at any rate, with me concentrating on catching up on things and prepping to start stepping back into the "work" mindset. Coming back up on full weeks and short weekends. . . At least we have two weeks, then a day off in MLK Jr Day. Then I have to start planning days off in February and March so I don't lose my little mind. . .

Anyway! Spent some time reading up on Clue on TV Tropes this morning (because it was on my mind after last night's movie marathon, which was a lot of fun -- I hadn't seen it or Who Framed Roger Rabbit in quite some time, so it was great to catch up on them again. And of course Hot Fuzz is always a favorite), then moved onto YouTube after lunch, with:

-->A Progress Report on Osana from Yandere Simulator (she is functionally complete -- all that remains now is bug-testing and updating UI components and suchlike! So that's fun)

-->A GrayStillPlays marathon (which is becoming a common theme around here, isn't it?) -- Loser Simulator (in which Gray plays a loser and discovers it is very hard to survive as one -- especially when you won't stop chugging protein shakes or binging Netflix); Lapse (a Nirvana-type game where the idea is to balance four stats and stop any from getting too high or low -- only this time you're president of the world post an apocalypse! Gray of course tried to get everyone irradiated and angry, and got himself murdered in a variety of ways); and three episodes of Air Marty (THIS GAME. I SWEAR THIS GAME. It is all minigames with various strange art styles and it is HILARIOUS with the amount of sheer WTF it throws at you. I am so thrilled to see Gray play more of it and go through stuff like a 70s cop show dream sequence where you can kill your partner and become rich and famous; shooting a UFO through the plane and getting it taken home as a toy to an alien's kid; or blowing up the plane, landing in the jungle, and becoming the beloved pet of a forest spirit. EVERYTHING IS COMPLETELY BONKERS AND I LOVE IT. And so does Gray :D)

-->A look at some romantic relationship mods (positive and negative) for Sims 4 from Fantayzia (some cute stuff that I want, like a romantic dance mod and trading the woohoo fireworks for cute "pillow talk" interactions; also realistic cheating and divorce but as I don't play the Sims like that. . .)

-->And FINALLY catching up on the latest episode of James's Planet Zoo LP (the zoo is riding the ragged edge of disaster, with elderly animals passing away, major path bottlenecks, sick animals needing quarantine, not enough staff, too much litter, and not NEARLY enough money coming in. James has done his best to fix what problems he can (adding some habitat animals at the zoo entrance to drum up donations; putting in more food stands; hiring some more staff and erecting some more buildings), and the zoo is turning a profit again, but -- well, it's probably worrying that he keeps having to resort to loans to keep the place afloat. Careful, James -- we don't want to see Bigwallet Zoo crash and burn!)

In between GrayStillPlays and the Sims stuff, I played my own Sims 4 game -- Victor and Alice's hygiene needs are both acting a touch glitchy (acting like they're not being fulfilled the FIRST time I direct them to do something about it, then being okay the second -- it seems to maybe be specifically related to showers? Hmm. . .), and I had to have Alice scrap a book that she'd ALMOST completed, but had glitched out as a result of the computer she was working on breaking right as she was finishing it up, but other than that, they managed to have a decent in-game New Year's! They decorated the house, had some people over (so, uh, Victor and Alice could feed on them; Victor was successful, Alice not so much), hit the Romance Festival briefly (I was looking for new plants for Victor, but EVERY ONE was out of season and thus just a dirt pile), stayed up until midnight for the countdown, and made resolutions! Alice has resolved to complete another book, which, should be easy given that's what I'm having her focus on. :p Victor and Emma are both trying to complete aspiration milestones -- a bit harder, but all I really to do is have Victor plant something so he can finally progress past the first part of Freelance Botanist. Got him some Christmas Roses from a seed packet, so I'm thinking this weekend. . . Emma, for her part, either needs to start playing more chess or make a BFF. We'll see what happens!

I also managed to get in about a page's worth of writing on "Londerland Bloodlines," hooray! Alice has successfully checked her e-mail, and is about to meet Mercurio. I think the hardest part of writing that story is that I can't just put on some music and just write, like I'm used to with other stories -- I need to have an LP of the game up so I can check wording and dialogue, meaning a lot of it is written in silence, and it weirds me out. Maybe if I had some background noise from a different site? Eh, probably end up being distracting, especially since I'd keep wanting to pause it to hear dialogue and such. . .then again, what I'm mostly doing is reading the subtitles. . .eh, what I'm doing is working for now. I think I just need to get into a proper rhythm -- and figure out the best way to get past some of the awkward bits. Trust me, you're not going to want to see every freaking fight scene in this game. . .

And then my evening's been mostly the usual round of catching up and figuring out what I need to do where. Gotta answer the comments sitting in the inbox now, and get to bed at a halfway-decent time for a change! For, you know, two whole days. . .oh! I just remember, I gotta get my muffins out of the freezer too. Let me go do that before I forget. *nods seriously* Night all! Let's hope that 2020 is not a total trash fire.
