Riding The Ragged Edge of Rough Thursday
Jan. 2nd, 2020 11:18 pmAKA, I thought the day was going to be worse than it turned out to be when it started out with my computer apparently making a TERRIFYING noise this morning, prompting me to hastily make a fresh backup and worry constantly about whether or not I was going to be spending my January getting a new PC. Fortunately, the computer has been running fine since, and with some more time to think about it, I think I may have mistook a noise from our notoriously-rattly heating system as coming from the laptop. *pats Lenny* Just hold on until I've finished Bloodlines, okay? I'm not that far off from completing it!
Work was a similar situation -- started out with someone having left a message about a misattributed pledge, but fortunately I managed to track down what was going on there without much issue, and the rest of the day was fairly quiet. Spent some time working through more obituaries, which at least filled up the time. I'll take it! Soon enough we're going to be getting into the really busy and horrible days, so I have to take the ones where I can breathe when I can.
Evening's been pretty quiet too:
-->Got in a quick exercise video, yaaay~ Trying to get back into the habit of doing those most days!
-->Edited some more on Chapter 3 of "Secundus 2" -- the gang has been introduced to as much of the McFly family I could fit into one place, and Gordon Tannen at the bar has JUST recognized Victor XD So that'll be a fun bit to work on next. I always like Victor letting his madboy side out a little~
-->Listened to the latest Wyrd Sisters Podcast episode -- Reaper Man! AKA when the books really start getting good. The sisters weren't shy about pointing out some of the more problematic elements in the book ("Mrs. Cake employs [literally] some racist stereotypes and is kind of an abusive mother," for starters), but everyone loved the main plot, and felt there were a TON of good lines. Which -- yeah, same. They also reminisced about the fact they've been doing the damn podcast for a year now (amazing!), and even gave me a little shout-out as a regular commenter. :) So that was sweet.
-->Fit in another GrayStillPlays video -- Lapse 2! Roughly the same deal as the first one gameplay-wise, only now you're a pharaoh in Ancient Egypt. Gray set out to get himself killed in a fun variety of ways, and succeeded -- from people losing their faith in the gods and the pharaoh and murdering him, to getting stoned, to having his head sold to enemy armies, to randomly drowning in his bath. XD Good times, good times.
-->Got my queues for both VictorLuvsAlice and Valice Multiverse done, and answered the comments in my inbox.
And now I'm just catching up on the vtmb tag on tumblr, because that is a thing I do and enjoy. Now I just gotta make it through tomorrow, and I have a weekend again! :p With a belated Christmas/birthday thing from my aunt no less. . .hopefully we don't all drive each other crazy in the process. :p Night all!
