Trying Out Something New Here
Jan. 6th, 2020 11:22 pmI have, for the first time, stored images on Dreamwidth! Let's see how they work. . .ah, okay, the links make clickable thumbnails. I can do that. Allow me to show you, if I may, my jewelry-holding hands I got from my aunt this Saturday!

The side view! Here you can see that yes, it is indeed very Gothic. And yes, that I indeed have a LOT of necklaces.

The front view! Here you can better see the roses on the base. . .and even better see that I have a LOT of damn necklaces. I actually counted while I was taking them out of their boxes -- between various Christmases, birthdays, Valentine's Days, and me picking up stuff on my own, I've collected ten altogether! Not the most anyone's ever had at one time, I'm sure, but a lot for me! Hence why I wanted something like this in the first place -- I was running out of room to keep everything nicely in the boxes I had.

While I was taking pictures, I figured I'd get some shots of some of the newest additions to the collection. That bright blue one? That's a necklace my dad gave me for my birthday -- it's abalone! Isn't it pretty? The little heart one in front of it was a Valentine's gift from him, while the two bugs next to it are my steampunk bee necklaces that I grabbed from Hot Topic on a mall trip. (Though I took them because I thought the brown one looked like a butterfly. . .doesn't it?)

And here's the one I was trying to describe the other day, that my aunt got me to go with the hands. I'm not sure what kind of stone this is, but it's pretty behind the gold. :) Next to it is the custom Corpse Bride necklace my Mom made -- you would have seen that in my Christmas presents tumblr post from earlier. I really should get a shot of all of my necklaces lined up together. . .
All right, hopefully that satisfies everyone's urge to know more about my new jewelry stand. :p Now, as for my actual Monday:
-->Work was busy, but not too frustrating, fortunately. I spent a lot of it either sorting out the GL, or working to finish off various exception bundles we have. There's always a few fiddly ones that need extra work. . . At least I was able to take care of a few last things that were bothering me last week!
-->Weather is doing weird things again -- most of this week is supposed to be cold. We had snow showers most of the day (fortunately nothing that stuck), and we're expected to get a coating to a couple of inches of snow late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning thanks to a fast-moving storm. But this Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be in the FIFTIES -- and, sadly, rainy, otherwise I'd be getting out for a walk. Ah well. . .but yeah, I suspect we're going to be having a winter, and possibly a year, of lots of ups and downs weather-wise.
-->Videos today consisted of a Fun With Shorts about "bulletin boards" (I put that in quotes because what the guy seemed to be describing were poster board presentations -- possibly using a bulletin board BASE, but. . .yeah, it was a bit weird), and a bunch of videos of this guy reading things -- specifically, a bunch of funny Sims 3 patch notes (he was cracking up at a bunch of them in the very first video), and a bunch of those "aliens would be SO FREAKING CONFUSED by humans" posts that are popular on tumblr (hearing them read out loud is a lot of fun XD). Not a typical night on YouTube, but I had fun!
-->I wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines!" *applause* Alice has met Mercurio, and we're in the middle of his introduction to the fledgling as a beat-up wreck. I upped the ante slightly by having him pull a gun on her before he realized she wasn't one of the gang that beat him up, come to finish him off. Alice, fortunately, was forgiving. We're actually up to the part where he's about to give her her first lesson in what a ghoul is -- which is good, because by tomorrow night in-universe, she's going to need to know. . .
-->And I finished doing my latest Newcrest Adventures pictures, and I'm working on getting the initial post drafts into the queue. Threw a few other interesting things into my drafts as well, go me. And did my comments, so w000t.
And now it's time to wrap up and work on getting to bed at a decent hour. Hopefully the rest of this week won't go straight down the crapper. . .speaking of which, Dad doesn't seem to be sick, yay. Guess it was just "something he ate disagreed with him." Whew! I want to take time off for good reasons, not "too sick to move." *nods* Anyway -- finishing up the queue posts, then bed. Night all!
