Exhausting Stressful Monday
Nov. 2nd, 2020 11:22 pmLike -- it was basically constant demands on my time at work, most of which centered around online payment stuff and problems related to same. . .kept sending out e-mails and taking calls and trying to figure out what was going on with certain things and I just -- ugh. The looming election is not helping either. . . I can feel my damn eye twitching. Hoping getting some more sleep tonight will help with that (I went to bed a bit late last night because computer was slow shutting down).
Anyway, afternoon was a little better, and mostly focused on catching up with stuff:
-->Back on the exercise train with a bike ride this afternoon
-->Seeing what I could catch up with in regards to YouTube:
A) Bike ride means a trip back to Jon's Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! He finished off taking out the Triggermen, entering Vault 114 itself (which apparently never really got off the ground, at least in terms of its experiment), clearing out a few more guys, and rescuing good old Nick Valentine! He ended episode 13 by using his new Enraging combat shotgun on Skinny Malone, getting him to kill his own guys while he retreated to safety (chased by Darla, but a VATS decapitation took care of her). Apparently this is the first time he hasn't had access to Mama Murphy's hint about him and thus wasn't able to talk Skinny down. Interesting! At any rate, with the pair out of the Vault, episode 14 started with Grills Bears accompanying Valentine back to Diamond City (and shooting a lot of people along the way), with a stop-off at Hangman's Alley to rest and drop off his stuff. Then, after going through the interview off-camera, he successfully schmoozed Kellogg's house key off Mayor McDonough, searched it with Nick, summoned Dogmeat to smell the cigar, and then left the dog to find Fort Hagan on his own while he did some prepwork for some other adventures he'd like to do. Namely, he upgraded his Enraging Shotgun with the mods off his other gun, then did some building to level up and get another rank in "Gun Nut" so he could continue improving the Deliverer. He's also kitted himself out with that Freezing double-barrel shotgun in case of Deathclaws. Adventure awaits! :)
B) Then the evening belonged to Call Me Kevin:
1. A sponsored video for Watch Dogs: Legion! Featuring a babysitter who was banned from the London Zoo, who stumbles across a resistance organization called DedSec and gets recruited – only to recruit a super old lady by getting her drugs for her friend, leading to Kevin switching to said old lady as she limps around London. XD Many buses and ambulances are stolen and crashed into things along the way. It looks like a genuinely fun game, and Kevin was clearly having a blast doing all sorts of hacky and cardbox-box-weary things. XD
2. More Among Us, natch. And it's another pacifist run, though under the name "Violent" to deflect suspicion when he's the impostor. Very funny episode with Kevin making some new friends (like he, the purple guy, whom Kevin managed to finely manipulate to vote off other crew members when he was the impostor with random accusations; pro tip: accuse others of murdering people who have actually just left the game), and experiencing some fun lobbies (quite a few people share his 'vote off the person who swears, impostor or not' attitude). His buddy system tactics are the best. XD
3. And a trip through – GTA YouTube? Yeah, apparently Kevin was browsing the site after drinking and stumbled across the "clickbait" community over there – people who make videos about fake easter eggs in the game (like a funeral for CJ in GTA 5), or pretending they've gotten an early copy of GTA 6. Kevin was just utterly baffled by the ridiculousness and overacting, though he was pretty fond of one video which pitted Franklin against the ghost of Big Smoke. XD As he said, as long as they're not actually hurting anyone, he's fine with it.
-->Getting back into the writing groove -- though in the realm of gift fic for a friend whose birthday is next week. Really wanted to hammer out a rough draft of something today -- and I managed to do just that, so yay. Back to "Londerland Bloodlines" tomorrow!
-->Answered all the comments I missed from yesterday, both here and on DW, yay. (Though I think it helps that my friend reviewing my fics took today off!)
-->One thing that I didn't manage to catch up on, though, was my Sims pictures for Wednesday -- I took a lot more pictures than expected for a fairly quiet day in the Liddell-Van Dort family. O.o I blame this entirely on the fact that it's Victor and Alice and I love them the most. Maybe I'll reblog something else Sims-related this Wednesday, or talk about Snowy Escape.
And that's about it -- finished up webcomics and whatnot earlier, so it's time to empty out the inbox and head to bed. Dunno what'll be waiting for me tomorrow -- hopefully nothing too horrifying. Night all.
