crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
My coworker who was out for a medical issue is back, and I am not enjoying it -- I'd gotten used to the quiet in the office without her constant fucking chatter. *grumbles* Add onto that me having to e-mail the credit card people about issues AGAIN, look things up for people, get e-mailed by Fiscal AGAIN because something wasn't adding up. . . Plus I'm pretty sure I'm PMSing, which does not help with the standard Anxiety. Especially with the CDC saying things like "if you're over 65 you need to refuse to go into any indoor area where people aren't wearing masks, and if you're under 40 and met anyone outside your household for Thanksgiving, you should just assume you have COVID." Neither apply to me (we stayed at home for Thanksgiving; literally the only other place I go anymore is the office), but -- yeah. The world remains a fucked-up place in the last month of 2020. *sigh*

Anyway -- few positives to report once I finished my day at work:

-->We finished the latest puzzle we got -- minus one piece, unfortunately. We searched the living room but didn't find it, and suspect it wasn't there in the first place. Shame, but it was still fun!

-->Got in the bike ride, hooray for keeping up on my exercise~

-->Staying caught up on my YouTube:

A) More bike, more of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Still had that annoying stutter problem at the beginning, unfortunately, so I didn’t get as far as I might have liked, but fortunately turning the TV off and on again seemed to finally get YouTube to work. Tonight’s chunk of episode 24 consisted mainly of:

1. Grills following the Courser signal (and slipping past some raiders) to locate Greentech Genetics for later fighting (Jon wants to be well prepared to take on the Courser, as he doesn’t have Mama Murphy to give him a psychic shutdown code this time).

2. Grills encountering his Starlight Drive-In provisoner being attacked and helping her out in fighting some raiders

3. Grills having to fight another bunch of raiders on the bridge to Goodneighbor – fortunately they were low level

4. Grills turning in the last bit of the Silver Shroud quest, meaning he can finally drop the armor the next time he’s near a box (it’s decent, but outstripped by his current gear, and won’t get any better without Kent to upgrade it)

5. Grills taking a vertibird over to the Castle, only to find it under attack by raiders and helping out with that

6. Grills going to loot the corpses and deciding he might as well take on the robots in the factory before doing “Old Guns” with Ronnie – and getting absolutely owned by a Legendary Swarmbot

7. Grills deciding “Old Guns” seems a lot more fun and braving the tunnels and SARGE with Ronnie, before testing out his new artillery and grabbing his Minutemen General’s outfit and a really nice Laser Musket!

And now he’s thinking about building artillery at his settlements to try and destroy one of the robobrains he has to fight, which appears at a randomized location. Interesting. . .anyway, looking forward to him trying the factory again – poor guy, you need a LOT more Troubleshooter’s gear!

B) Then it was time to catch up with James Turner and the final episode of “Rags to Redevelopment!” In order to speed things along to the next era of the Bigwallets with Snowy Escape, he ditched the idea of buying the dump lot and instead focused on completing the “Master Maker” aspiration for Ambrose, as he’d just been promoted to the top of the Civil Engineer career in the last part. Ambrose switched careers to Freelance Crafter and proceeded to take five gigs over the course of a few days to max out his Fabrication skill and finally, finally earn his “Muse of the Maker” reward trait. Along the way, the kids all aged up – Isaiah and Brodie to kids, Candle to a toddler; Lilith finally got enough Vampire Lore skill to buy plasma packs to keep herself hydrated; a bunch of random people kept wandering through the filthy house; James discovered it takes about THREE IN-GAME HOURS to make a single candle (ridiculous!); and one of the kids (I think Isaiah) jumped in the trash bin. XD But Ambrose did indeed finish his aspiration, and the series ended with him giving Lilith an Eco-Vacuum as a gift. :p It looks like we’re getting at least one of the boys as the “hero” of the Snowy Escape LP, and possibly all three – we’ll see what happens when James posts the first episode of the next series! (Left a comment suggesting he throw Column’s long-forgotten baby into the mix too – probably too late for him to do anything with it, but it’s out there).

C) Back with Call Me Kevin and Immortals Fenyx Rising! Ubisoft sponsored him for more beanie content, so here we are! (Er, seriously, apparently his heat is broken, so I hope he can retire the beanie soon.) Today’s episode was partially about rolling pearls into the ocean (to help tree-Aphrodite move again so she can deliver apples to people – I am as confused as you are); and partially about fighting the corrupted form of Achilles as he dances a little jig and slays you with horrific sword and spear moves. Kevin died in his first attempt to beat the guy, but managed to do MUCH better in his second attempt, yay! This is made rather hilarious by the fact that he earlier fled a fight with a chicken, though. XD To be fair, chickens in this game are apparently MEAN. Legend of Zelda-style mean, in fact. But Kevin had a good time nonetheless, and I have to admit, gorgeous game is gorgeous. You can have a lot of fun with this on graphics alone. I approve, Kevin, and if you get more sponsors from Ubisoft, I will happily watch more of you fleeing combat and failing puzzles. XD

D) And then, since Gray didn’t update today (I’ve noticed in the past he seems to give himself one day off a week; maybe it’s specifically Thursdays), I quickly crossed off the Red Plumbob video I’ve had in my Watch Later, about cheating and break-ups across the Sims series. Yeaaah, this – hits a little differently after Victor and Alice chose to fight like they did in my game the other day. . . Also highlights how lame Sims 4 reactions can be, despite them having explicit instead of implicit emotions. I miss the over-dramatic sobbing from Sims 2. Though I did learn that two sims getting married in Sims 4 have the option to suddenly “call off the wedding.” Hmm. Probably won’t ever use that, but good information to have!

-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice is crawling along the beams at the top of the warehouse, listening to the conversation the thugs have below her about maybe ordering a pizza (with the leader flipping out XD). Nothing too special, but it's certainly amusing enough! Alice certainly thinks so anyway.

-->Queue on Valice Multiverse was nice and short, so I'm all set there, with plenty of time to poke at Nexus Mods for cool Fallout 4 stuff to ogle, since that makes me happy.

And that's about it, beyond me catching up on webcomics and eating chocolate chunk cookies and cuddling Dougie my toy dragon. I mean, all those are good, just not very interesting to read about. :p At any rate, I need to finish answering comments, then head to bed. At least tomorrow's already Friday. . .and I have a long weekend to look forward to. A long weekend where I've actually made some progress catching up on my subscriptions (just the Wyrd Sister podcasts now, and I have to listen to those in reverse order of how they were posted as 20 came after 21), so maybe I can fit in more Fallout 4 speedrun fun. :p But that'll have to wait until said weekend. . . Night all!
