Up And Down Friday
Jan. 8th, 2021 11:04 pmSome pretty stressful moments (I wish they wouldn't just STARE at me as I struggle to explain that no, there is no good system with the credit card people and the website, I am Not Good now and I cannot force them to change), but I also got a few chill "let's just do roster maintenance" moments, so -- I guess work was okay? Maybe possibly? Well, I have a weekend off, let's see where that goes.
As it stands, let's cover the to-do list for the evening:
1. Get in a workout: Not checked today – I got really into helping my mom with the puzzle and decided to take the night off. Hey, I’m allowed one or two a week, right? :p And we did make some good progress on said puzzle, so I’m not particularly fussed.
2. Keep up with YouTube subscriptions: Check! On the docket:
A) The latest Fun With Shorts, “From Blossom to Fruit” Part 2! We complete the process of listening to a guy describe plant-sex and how it results in things you (used to) like to eat. Josh was delightfully snarky on the boring yet slightly-creepy film, including some terrible puns. XD
B) In Call Me Kevin’s world, the people behind the new Hitman series actually let Kevin have a sneak peek at Hitman III! (They also gave it to the OXBox crew, of course – that one’s in my Watch Later :D) Kevin played through the very first mission in Dubai for our pleasure, and – well, it’s Kevin. Of course it was utter chaos. XD Kevin was so impressed with 47’s initial quick-change when entering the level, he kept stealing people’s outfits for no real reason. And then he started coming up with elaborate plans to actually off his targets, only to get distracted exploring the level, taking selfies (47 has a camera now, you see), flooding sinks, and killing random people in the building. He eventually used this to his advantage, going on a murder spree to force his targets to evacuate in a very unsafe way. (You see, the level is set in the tallest building in the world, and there’s parachutes laying around to sabotage. . .) And then he sailed off into the sunset, content in a job very messily done. :D Oh, this is gonna be great. :D
C) And over on GrayStillPlays – he’s in Fortnite?? Because apparently people do impossible challenges in this game, and that’s Gray’s thing of the moment, soo. . . He came armed with pancakes, if that helps? XD Actually, looking at his character again, he just came as pancakes in general. Anyway, there’s this thing called a “deathrun,” it features lots of spots where your character must “ice-skate” across obstacles with their feet encased in ice cubes, lots of spike traps to dodge, a grapple-gun section that can be cheesed, and a hefty amount of masochism. Just the way Gray likes ‘em! It took him quite a few tries (especially with the slippy-slidey bits), but he did eventually make it through the entire level! His reward was bush. Quite a lot of bushes. XD So I guess we can expect to see more of this in the future? Okay then. XD
D) Bonus off-the-subs video – more kinetic typography fun with John Mulaney bits! In this case the beginning of “Street Smarts” and his description of the cop that came to teach them to his class. XD Good stuff!
3. Write on – my Valice Multiverse verses revamp: Check! Yeah, I wanted a head start on this weekend’s RP project (finishing up the revamp/soft reboot of The Valice Multiverse on tumblr), so I decided to use my writing time to get a bit more done. Cleaned up the stuff for the Forgotten Vows Verse and Secundus Verse sections, wrote out the Catch Us If You Can Verse stuff in full, and started the Cuddlepile Verse! Slowly but surely getting there. . .
So that's pretty good! And I got through all my webcomics too (after a brief "music" break with some old Michael Jackson songs I'm fond of). I'm currently clearing up my Valice Multiverse queue for the moment, getting all those posts sorted for tomorrow. Still gotta answer the stuff in my inbox too, of course. . . But while I'm here, let's get the non-cleaning Saturday to-do list sorted:
1. Get as close as I can to finishing the Valice Multiverse verse revamps
2. Keep up on my YouTube Subscriptions and watch at least the Plumbella videos in my Watch Later
3. Play Sims 4 (which save file to be determined)
4. Get in a workout
Nothing too taxing, I feel. Though that first one will probably take me longer than anticipated. . .maybe I can sneak in some time on it tonight. At least get Cuddlepile sorted?
Okay, time to finish all this stuff up and stay up late again because I can. Hoping for a halfway-decent Saturday -- there will be chicken tenders because it's Wildcard Weekend in football, anyway. Night all!
