Well, in one area, anyway -- I did pretty good on the to-do list overall:

1. Watch the three OXBox/OXtra lists in my Watch Later, the two Call Me Kevin videos in my Subscriptions, and Jon's Fallout 4 YOLO episode: Check – it certainly took a while, but I completed this one, with no substitutions today! Hell, I even started off with “bonus content,” technically –

A) With some “off the list” videos last night and this morning, as I do:

1. A video on the “Advanced Needs 2” mod page on the Nexus detailing – well, detailing an older version of the mod that shows off some of the features that it comes with. Unfortunately, the guy doing it focused a LOT on the bathroom needs, and getting sick from illnesses (which can include puking), meaning by the time I finished the video, I was feeling rather queasy myself. I mean, I guess showing any and every bad effect you can get from the mod is a good thing in a way, but – damn, did not need that before going to bed. Should have shut it off a lot earlier.

2. A second video on the same page, this being from a guy named TU3SD4Y who apparently does mod compilation videos, and whom featured the “Consumable Spoilage” expansion of the mod (which makes food spoil) in one of his “give Fallout 4 some of the cool stuff from Fallout 76” lists. This was much more palatable, rather amusing, and showed off some nice stuff. Thanks Tues!

3. And another video of John Mulaney on a talk show – this one The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sharing the story of the best heckle he ever received during a show out in Tennessee – some guy telling him that they would prefer silence to the sound of his voice. As John put it, horrifically mean but VERY eloquent. XD

B) Okay, onto the stuff actually in the list item – OXBox/OXtra lists! We had:

1. OXtra’s “7 Times Your Precious Stealth Skills Meant Nothing” – featuring games that either are proper stealth games or reward stealth builds suddenly going “ok, time for a BIG ACTION SEQUENCE where you HAVE to go in Full Mike.” XD Of note was Hitman: Blood Money ending with 47’s fake funeral turning into a shootout (unless you choose not to get up and thus get buried alive); Deus Ex: Human Revolution having terrible non-stealthy bosses (unless you played the Director’s Cut on the Wii U); and Cyberpunk 2077 having a formerly-stealthy NPC fling you into a firefight with her car (also it’s a crashy mess). I mean, Full Mike can be fun, but it’s the most fun if you’re just Miking it the entire time. XD

2. OXBox’s “Cyberpunk 2077: The 7 Weirdest Quests We've Found in Night City” – featuring odd side quests in aforementioned crashy mess. XD Apparently there is good game to be found among the glitches? At the very least, there is fun stuff like repairing a roller coaster and going on a ride with it with Keanu Reeves’s character (w000!); making friends with Brendan the vending machine (which has a tragic ending where he’s recalled and his machine learning program gets a firmware update); and rounding up self-driving cars gone rogue, including one that hates lawn flamingos, one that needs to be talked off a ledge, one that hates all the noise and hustle and bustle of the city – and one that is GLaDOS. Seriously, all the same voice clips. Can we make a version of the game that’s just these missions? And stealing not-Batman’s stuff?

3. And OXBox’s “7 Times Games Looked Bad On Purpose” – featuring games who enjoy stylistic suck, at least when it comes to graphics! Like Spider-Man: Miles Morales having an “Into The Spider-Verse” suit for Miles that is animated like he was in the movie, which is technically choppier than the crisp clean framerate of the rest of the game, but still looks SOOO COOL. (And has comic ZAPs and POWs come out when you hit people! Best suit.) Or PaRappa the Rapper 2 having a 2-D pong-style minigame in one section that actually downgrades the graphics if you do poorly (neat trick). Or Mr. Game and Watch from the Smash Bros series being continually animated like he was on his original 80s console, even though Pac-Man from the same decade has decided to show up in 3-D. XD Fun stuff! But then it usually is when the “suck” is deliberate.

C) Then it was time for Call Me Kevin! We had –

1. The swan song (possibly, we’ll see) of GTA V Chaos Mod from yesterday – doing an entire heist with it active! “The Big Score,” no less, which looks fucking COMPLICATED. I mean, it involves using helicopters to steal a TRAIN at one point? And stealing a giant digging machine to get through the wall of a bank vault to steal gold? So yeah, adding the chaos mod to this was a baaaad idea. But a funny one. XD Poor Kevin, he had so much trouble with the set-up – game spawning dancing monkeys and drive-by shooters, fake-killing him and fake-crashing, dropping whales from the sky and teleporting him to random locales. . . Then the actual heist part of it went down reasonably smoothly, but getting away – it’s bad enough when the game is throwing things like Killer Clowns and one-bullet magazines at you, but when your NPC friend keeps running into the fire of your RPG shots and dying as a result. . . Kevin did EVENTUALLY complete the mission (despite a last screw-you explosion from the game just post final checkpoint), but it’s not surprising he implied this was his last Chaos Mod video! Poor guy. . .he’s been through a lot.

2. And today’s offering, 112 Operator, a game all about being an emergency operator taking calls and sending police and firefighters out to deal with issues! Kevin was – well, he basically ignored everything on his first go-round that wasn’t “fighting drugs” (his main objective) and failed out with a bad reputation. After that, he started taking things a little more seriously – but not that much. On the other hand, it’s hard to take seriously a game that includes a guy shoving a lightbulb up his ass while doing the sex things (Kevin actually advised him to EAT SPICY FOOD AND WAIT), and a literal Karen calling the police on a restaurant where she had a bad bowl of soup (Kevin obliged her by sending the police, giggling over the fact that she’ll be the one arrested). Oh, and there was that guy on the train tracks, whom Kevin took his sweet time telling him how to restart his car and then what to do afterwards. . .actually, there were a few incidents where Kevin handled a call in a way that someone could end up dead, only to get a call right afterward that, uh, things had gone poorly. XD On the plus side, his operator DID stop some suicidal guy from jumping by singing with him, so – Kevin’s capable of the occasional bit of good? XD

D) And then, of course, it’s Sunday Night – time for Jon's Fallout 4 YOLO Episode! :D In which we have a perfect example of “Jon Luck” – in preparation for rescuing Nick Valentine from Vault 114 and advancing the main plot, Jon chose to go to Hubris Comics to hunt ghouls and raise his adrenaline levels. Not only was he surprised by ghouls dropping through the holes in the ceiling, one roamer managed ludicrous speed and swiped a good 20 points of health off him. Vault 114? He took a light tap from a guy in the very first room, and managed to avoid all damage from the rest of the gang before getting past Skinny Malone with a speech check thanks to Mama Murphy and her psychic hints. Granted, he also picked up Lethargy, a terrible illness that drops his action point refresh speed by half (a terrible thing for a character whose build is all about sniping and sneak-attack critical hits in VATS) in the Vault, thanks to the use of Grape Mentats, but even still. It really does figure that he’d get the worst of it in his “warm up,” right? XD

But yeah, the trip through Hubris and the trip through Vault 114 was the bulk of the episode, with Jon doing his best to carefully pick off enemies without getting flustered (to varying degrees of success). He did, however, swing by Goodneighbor, as clearing out Hubris meant he had the Silver Shroud costume ANYWAY, sooo. . . He also indulged in the special “Memory Den” mini-quest you can get at the Memory Den if you haven’t actually saved Nick yet – it’s basically just “Sole Survivor tries to relive memory at Den, ends up reliving their spouse getting shot, is compensated with XP.” Which Jon is not going to say no to – though he did say no to demanding a refund when he’d actually persuaded the staff into letting Finalley have a go. He has SOME morals. XD So yeah, that’s out of the way, the beginning of “The Silver Shroud” has been kicked off (and Jon killed the first guy easily, simply because he was on his own and there was no need to be a ham in the costume – though he is ticked off that the “quest item” nature of the outfit means he can’t DROP it), Nick has been rescued (with much cursing from Jon about useless not-companions going ahead, getting enemy attention, and then bringing it straight back to the player), and Jon is figuring out just how bad going after Kellogg and bringing in the Brotherhood of Steel is going to be with his new disease. Should make for an interesting next Sunday, that’s for sure!

2. Play Fallout 4 and see what progress I can make in my save: Check! Got through about another day and a half in Victor’s life. Spent most of 10/24 scrapping chunks of Sanctuary and exploring the houses I didn’t get to last time, then going around the outer edge of the island and across the river to the riverbank closest to Vault 111. Victor found the remains of an unfortunate fisherwoman; some squirrels (he took a shot at one, but barely hurt it before it and its pups ran away to be harried by some dogs); a lot of bloodleaf and hubflower; some gourds and wild mutfruit; a creepy mannequin with a stimpack shoved in it on a mattress; and a suitcase containing some raider gear and some leather gear! So that was good for him. I had him head home and get a good night’s sleep, then sent him to upgrade his new raider gear (I scrapped the leather gear; just not good enough and I could use the leather) and get rid of all his excess 10mm pistols before heading over to the Red Rocket. . .

And it started thunderstorming right as Victor got over the bridge. *facepalm* Of course, True Storms. Of course. He collected more mutfruit, along with some irradiated thistles, then met up with Dogmeat at the Red Rocket and fought the mole rats in the rain. I left him inside the Rocket after picking up some goodies and activating the workbench – so far, so good! Though I’m still holding my breath, waiting for the game to screw me over. . .

3. Work on my Valice Multiverse "information document" update: Yeaaah, given how long the videos were, and my insistence on getting in both Kevins before Jon, this unfortunately fell by the wayside. Hoping to pick it up again tomorrow! Or even later tonight; day’s not over yet!

4. Get in a workout: Check! And with another bike ride, I resumed my watch of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! After reloading from his failed attempt at blowing up Rory’s Murkies, Jon just hopped down and took them out with his gun – including a shot on the Killclaw with his Gauss Rifle, w000. With Mirelurks killed and chest raided, he then headed further up north, looking for interesting things. He skirted around a town infested with super mutants (simply because, since the town isn’t a settlement, he wasn’t interested in the firefight), then found an old radio relay tower that someone – possibly an Army guy, judging by the skeleton there – had set up as a sort of base, full of radios that presumably were being monitored in case they could get into contact with anyone. Jon raised the tower, but didn’t find anything interesting – a couple of dead signals and one that just beeped. Shame. Though good, depressing storytelling, I guess.

With that out of the way, Jon found his way towards Malden, since he had two quests for the hospital and he wanted to explore the surrounding area more thoroughly. (Though not the Med-Tek headquarters, since that’s a Macready personal quest location – save that for when he does the companion stuff!) He killed a junkbot near a parking garage, then proceeded into Slocum Joe’s Corporate Headquarters to kill the raiders there and score himself the recipe for their famous Buzzbites! I – don’t know why you would, apart from the experience gain, because they are donut holes with hot coffee in them – you eat these, you LOSE a bit of health. XD But I guess they are fun. He looped back around to the hospital, and found himself with help as he took out the respawned Super Mutants outside – Institute Synths! Isn’t it nice when you and some of the NPCs are on the same side. . . This especially held true as he went for a wander in the nearby Malden Central subway station – place was full of synths, who were clearing out the last of a raider group that had literally tunneled into the place to make a base. Jon was confused as to why the synths were even there, but let the raiders kill the one legendary among their group to claim its gear (unfortunately nothing good) before killing the raiders and using their bed. XD Pragmatic as always, Jon! I left having just started episode 42, with Jon taking Grills back inside Malden Memorial to clear out the Super Mutants for the Slog and secure the DIA cache for the Railroad. He managed to make it past the first room with few problems, happily (I remember that being a pain in the ass when I stumbled in there) – and was confuzzled by the room where he collected the Surgical Journal before having somehow RELOCKED itself. I guess enemy resets also mean lock resets? *shrug* At any rate, I’m ready to pick up with him cleaning out the hospital and finding the key to the master-locked Operating Theater – he’s never managed to get inside, and he wants to know what’s in there, damn it! XD

So yeah, good for everything relating to Fallout 4 and YouTube and whatnot; less good on the writing front. I meant to get an earlier start on that, but then I got sucked into other stuff. . . Hopefully tomorrow I can do better!

Not much else to say, really. . .I had a nice parfait for breakfast (though I managed to spill some of the granola on top and drop my spoon right before digging in); we watched the latest episode of QI with lunch (spinach pie, om nom); and I made myself a milkshake for dessert because I haven't had one in a while and I was having a craving (Cookies and Cream-flavor ice cream, mixed with a little bit of hot chocolate powder. Quite tasty!). So that was all good. Currently getting my Valice Multiverse queue sorted for the night, then we'll see where the evening takes me -- three day weekend, after all! Nice not to have to worry about work for a day. . .anyway, tomorrow's to-dos:

1. Work some more on the Valice Multiverse "information page" stuff

2. Watch the Hitman 2 OXBox livestream and Plumbella's latest renovation video in my Watch Later, along with catching up on Gray and Kevin in my Subscriptions

3. Play Untitled Goose Game and get to work on some of the bonus objectives

4. Get in a workout

5. Get the pictures for my next Newcrest Adventures update on Wednesday sorted

*nods* That'll work. Hopefully I can be a little less distracted tomorrow morning -- we shall see! In the meantime, I have comments to answer and threads to queue -- night all!
