Another Hot One
Jun. 7th, 2021 11:02 pmAnd it appears the trend will continue over the next few days. . .hot, sticky, small chance of rain. At least we have our AC! Seriously didn't think we'd need it this early, but -- well. I've complained enough about how roller-coaster the weather has been lately, right?
Anyway, let's have the round-up:
Work – Busy Monday, mostly due to the fact we were a person down in the main office (one of my coworkers took the day off). I spent most of it fielding credit card calls, doing the GL, and working on a QC file, while listening to Talky Coworker talk to one of the directors about non-work-related stuff. *grumbles* On the plus side, not only did we get out slightly early, I now only have one day that is a true full workday this week – we’re getting out an hour early on Friday for one of those special graduation ceremonies, which I am happy to take.
Beanbags – Called again today because of the heat – who’s surprised? Judging by the weather forecast for the next few days (tomorrow hot and REALLY sticky, Wednesday possibly rainy), looks like we won’t be playing again until Thursday. Hopefully we’re not all too rusty by then! :p
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check! Did thirty minutes on the bike today (trying to push myself a little on my exercise now), and watched a couple of Sims 4 videos – one on stuff that you might not know about or remember exists in the game (the only real surprise for me is that the “memory system” – basically, you can set screenshots as “memories,” and if a Sim reminisces about it, they’ll regain the moodlet they had when the picture was taken – actually still exists and is functional! Huh. . .), and one from Fantayzia revealing that Wicked Whims/Wonderful Whims have both updated their attractiveness systems to use the new Likes and Dislikes that came with the pre-Dream Home Decorator patch. Now you can pick preferences straight from CAS! Part of me thinks this is cool, part of me looks at the fact you only get 20 Likes and Dislikes and worries about things getting too cluttered. Even Fantayzia admitted she hopes a mod to expand the number of Likes and Dislikes Sims get will be made. (Still, I DID struggle to come up with a couple of “dislikes” for Sims. . .we’ll see how it all shakes out!)
2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check! Alice has found herself very unimpressed by Vandal’s blood prices and by Vandal himself – she’s trying not to just steal medical supplies, thank you very much! . . .ignore the fact that she’s carting around a bag full of explosives. XD I’m actually going to have her go drop that off at her apartment and get a jacket to cover the bullet holes in her shirt before moving on – that feels a little smarter than just circling around and going in the front door, now that Alice has had her attention drawn to it. (Look, it’s already been a long night for her!)
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Two off the Subs list, and one extra –
A) Started with a video from Plumbella – apparently the next Sims 4 expansion pack is due to be announced soon, and Gamechangers like her got a postcard as a sort of “pre-announcement” thing! Not Plumbella HERSELF, mind, apparently she saw the damn thing on Twitter despite the fact that she’s an English Simmer (not THE EnglishSimmer, mind, but still) and been very open about wanting something closer to her own experience in the game. . . Anyway, she’s naturally most intrigued about the fact that the postcard is signed “A. & A. Crumplebottom,” which might mean the return of a certain NPC to the game. . . Personally, I am cautiously intrigued. I wouldn’t be opposed to a “countryside” pack with farming elements and the like, but – it’s hard to get your hopes up for this game sometimes. We’ll see more on 6/10/2021!
B) Then, over in my Subs, Call Me Kevin is back with Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue! Because the comments section would NOT shut up about him playing it. XD The game itself is an early PS2 game, and it involves Barbie going out to find a bunch of escaped horses after a storm blew their pen open. Because the lady who owns the ranch doesn’t believe in gates that lock, apparently. On her trusty depressed horse Blossom, Barbie went out and rescued foals from increasingly unbelievable predicaments – at least, until Kevin got bored of that part of the gameplay and just started wandering around and asking how to make Blossom actually jump. XD His fake bitching about being a 27-year-old playing a kid’s game was probably the best part of the video. Though I suspect he might have some real bitching in the future about people now asking him to play MORE Barbie games. . .
C) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays vs another GTA V stunt board! This one was pretty fiendish, not gonna lie – it STARTED with a jump that Gray had to try a couple of times before he managed it without drowning in the ocean below, and just got more difficult from there. Tightroping across pipes with invisible hills onto platforms that mostly didn’t exist? Yup. Tightroping across planes and giant Sprunk cans? Also yup. Getting yeeted across various ramps by strange spinning contraptions? Oh yeah. Leaping tightrope gaps and driving down steep inclines full of mannequins? Very much yes. Sliding under a billboard to end the board in a hole made of zeppelins? You know the answer by now. XD Gray definitely had to whip out the controller for this one, and even then he died like five million times. Just remember, Gray, your pain is our gain. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got the drafts for Eric’s last Newcrest Adventures post (detailing him going off on his first gig as a Paranormal Invesigator. . .also he turned into a ghost for a while :P) started before supper. So those are ready to be completed and shoved in the queue tomorrow!
And yeah, that's about it. Now I have multiple things to look forward to this week, I guess! :p Time to wrap things up by answering my comment and heading to bed. They may be shorter days, but it's still a five-day workweek! Thus I shall need my sleep. Night all!
