crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Weather was wet, gloomy and rather cool -- I wore long pants without any issue. Tomorrow's looking like more of the same, then by the end of the week it's gonna be hot and muggy again. I'm really starting to hate bouncing like this between two extremes. Like -- can't it just be NICE for five seconds? Bleh. . .

Anyway, here's the usual updates:

Work – Fairly quiet, which I appreciated – weirdly enough, both opened and closed the day with someone updating their credit card on a pledge. *shrug* But yeah, we’re back to processing, I’m back to checking people who have had a lot of payments fail, and tomorrow I expect to be back to yelling at Give Central for something or another. Circle of life!

Related to the concept of getting ready for work, I spent part of my evening baking muffins, something I haven't done in a while. But I was caught a bit flat-footed near the end of last week without muffins OR raisin toast, and had to grab some bowls of cereal (spiced up with a bit of chocolate granola), which is fine, but not something I usually eat before work. Now I have proper options again!

Beanbags – I think it might be another week without this – it’s been either way too hot and humid, or way too wet in general to play. And today was no exception, with it being on the wet side of things. Meeeh. I want decent weather again!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check! Another half-hour on the bike, and with The English Simmer! I finished off the video I was watching yesterday (going through the gameplay of the pack and giving her opinions – she likes taking care of animals and the farming aspect, thought the Finchwick Fairs were a bit dull and would probably get boring after a while, and appreciated groceries and the new Zoom food delivery app; she feels like she got through all the gameplay a bit quick, though, given that it only took her two in-game weeks to complete the new aspiration), then watched through an “unpopular opinions” video (such as her not caring if babies are objects anymore (all I want is the ability to take them out of the crib for more than two seconds), feeling occults given their own game packs do better than ones that come with expansions (represent), and hoping that Sims 5 doesn’t have ultra-realistic graphics (ULTRA represent)), before ending on a tier-ranking video for all the Sims 4 activities and hobbies for Sims. I think I might be sticking with her for a little while. :)

2. Do the first draft of this month’s gift fic: Check! I have one more birthday fic to complete this summer for a tumblr friend, and fortunately he always gives me some sort of brief, so I knew what I was doing. Specifically, a catty conversation between the Ventrue variant of his OC (who usually lives in Ducktales land) and LaCroix, with said OC having given poor overworked Alice a night off. :p I’m not sure about her yet, but I think I’ve made LaCroix appropriately unlikable. He’s very fun to write in that regard. :P

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Took me a while as James's videos remain pretty long, but I did indeed do it --

A) Started with James Turner and Part 4 of the Early Access Cottage Living LP! Today was all about earning the money for Chaz to buy the barn to renovate over in Old New Henford, and Chaz did indeed make that goal! . . .after spending almost $150 on a rose to deliver to the Creature Keeper (which he didn’t need to do, as Kim had already given him one – and then Michael was kind of lukewarm about the gesture, meaning the romance was stopped in its tracks), about $600 on a rooster and more chickens for his coop (to be fair, this resulted in a LOT of eggs – which he needed to give to the grocery stall owner), chasing off all sorts of wild foxes from said coop, and LOADING his alley with all sorts of Nightly mushrooms, since those sold the best. (Plus one pomegranate tree and one bird of paradise plant.) On the plus side, he also managed to buy a shower, a stove, and a counter so he could actually properly bathe and prepare meals, yay. :p And James is considering removing the “Off the Grid” challenge from his new lot just to make cooking a bit easier on poor Chaz. So yeah, he is now an official property owner, has a coop full of chickens, and is generally doing a bit better in life! Now he just has to find a way to renovate that barn. . .

B) Then it was onto Call Me Kevin and what I assume to be MMORPG Tycoon 2! A game where you create a game, hilariously enough. Kevin created “World of Scamcraft,” because he wanted to be very up-front about the kind of experience he was offering. XD And the experience he was offering was paying real money to respawn, paying real money to save, and being surrounded by crocodiles ALL THE TIME. Like, the starting location was full of crocodiles, and then the path to the second location contained such a high quantity of crocodiles that players were going there, dying, respawning, going back to their tombstones, and then dying AGAIN. XD The money pit, that was. . . Kevin also made one nice area, with a greater variety of enemies, but very few players ever made it there. And those that did probably unsubscribed the moment Kevin, having made a million off the game, promptly jacked up the price to $5,000 a month. XD It was a delightful look at horrible capitalism in action, with plenty of callouts for other companies. Love it. :)

C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! We had a couple of terrible ball throws (one with explodey death, and a bonus rope swing with spikey death; one that was Spider-Man themed and had both swordy death and explodey death, and which Gray won with his own severed arm), a ride down a VERY steep hill with bottle runs and jet dodges (this was the opener, and it gave Gray a bit of a challenge), a leisurely ride through the land of irresponsibility (aka Florida, though Gray didn’t actually make the joke), a bottle run on a supposedly-easy board (Gray honestly expected nothing less), a double spike fall in orange (one really narrow, one at odd angles – fun times!), and the troll board from hell with surprise yeety platforms, vans falling from the sky, harpoons coming from unexpected directions, and a bottle run with no boost in front of it (Gray spent SO LONG on this one, poor guy). All the ingredients you need for a great Happy Wheels experience! XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Eh, partial check – I did get some writing done on one of my Chill Save update posts – namely taking everyone through that Victor and Alice’s likes and dislikes. I didn’t get as far as I wanted, though, mostly because doing my writing and watching my videos took more time than anticipated. (To be fair, though, late start because of making muffins – I should fare a bit better tomorrow!)

So yeah -- maybe didn't get as much done in regards to tumblr as I'd like, but I'll make it up tomorrow. Right now I have to answer my comment and wrap things up to get to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be another okay day. I'll just be glad if we see the sun at some point. . .night all!
