Humid Hazy Monday
Jul. 26th, 2021 11:18 pmMore wildfire smoke drifting over and down and giving our air a rather unpleasant quality to it -- it's sad, it really is. :( Apparently the fire season is already the worst it's ever been, and there's still months left to go. Ugh, why did we have to fuck up the planet so much. . .
Anyway. Other than that, decent enough Monday -- allow me to elaborate:
Work – Another quiet day that I mostly spent tracking down dead people and duplicates, taking a couple of credit card calls in the process. I am content with this because the last thing I want before leaving for my vacation is utter disaster at work. Still four days to go, though. . .
. . .it occurs to me that I may not have mentioned I'm taking a vacation during the first week of August? It coincides with us having our driveway done (widened and repaved), and since we can't drive on it for a week, I figured I might as well make it so I have a reason to stay at home. :P Not to mention, there's a three-day weekend at the end of it, meaning I get an extra free day (Victory Day, the holiday RI celebrates because apparently we are STILL BITTER about Pearl Harbor). I'll take ten days off over nine!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike today, and continuing with Jon’s Original FO4 Run! Watched him work his way through Vault 111 – he couldn’t figure out how to open Nate’s cryopod, which – you know what, fair, it took me a minute to realize there’s a separate control pad next to it you can activate. And considering he’s already planning on selling Miss Jon’s wedding ring (along with all the radroach meat), perhaps he doesn’t deserve to get Nate’s as well. XD It’s been interesting, though, watching him go through the lore in the vault and figuring out what’s going on with some of the controls – and getting chomped by radroaches, because those little buggers can be NASTY. Past!Jon seems to be having fun, though, and I’m happy for him. I left it with Miss Jon just exiting Vault 111 – wonder what Past!Jon will make of Sanctuary!
2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Alice has left Victor to recover and wrapped up “Bloody Mess” by returning to her apartment, sticking the blood in the mailbox, and sending a quick message to LaCroix. Having neatened up now that the night has turned rainy, it’s off to the Asylum to meet the Voermans! Poor Alice doesn’t know what she’s in for. XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Long videos today, so just the usual three in, three out –
A) Started with James Turner and the next part of the Cottage Living LP – as per usual, most of Chaz and Trenton’s time was spent caring for their animals (and being afraid of thunderstorms, as Seasons has made this place a hell of a lot rainier) and selling produce. Chaz did get around doing a few errands for people, on a desperate quest to get more Livestock Upgrade Parts to fit his coop with a fox alarm and whatnot – he’s got just enough, but the important NPCs are being a bit stingy about handing out more. We also have two Agnes Crumplebottoms in town, which is – concerning to say the least. O.o But hey, Chaz is still earning good money (and just learned how to cross-stitch), Trenton’s getting along all right on the farm, said farm is getting bigger and more epic (and thanks to Chaz befriending bunnies and birds, is tended almost Disney-princess style these days), and basically despite the terrible weather, most everybody is content. Now all we have to do is convince James that it’s okay to trade the elderly chickens for meat. . . XD
B) Then it was onto Call Me Kevin, who was ALSO playing Cottage Living! Though in a much less family-friendly way. . .Jim, Turg, and their resident captive Father Winter moved to Henford-On-Bagley this episode, where Jim locked Santa in the cow pen for a while before going Disney princess with the wild birds of the Bramblewood, freezing the children of the Watson family, and then setting the place on fire. And then killed the responding firefighter with pufferfish. And woohooed a random woman in the stinky cow shed. XD Jim soon tired of the cottage life, however, and decided it was time to move into industrial farming – dozens of chicken coops in a cage behind his house, tended to by Father Winter! It’s already looking like a disaster, but he did get 94 eggs first time he collected, so. . .something’s working! XD I wonder if he already knows he can trade animals for meat. . .
C) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! We had some fun times today, let me tell you. From dodging harpoons in a heist with Pogo Man (harder to do if you don’t see every harpoon), to navigating blueberry donuts in a simple and yet fiendish rope swing (the middle one goes the wrong way compared to the other two), to battling his way through a pogo stick fight into a bottle flip (that man with telekinesis was a real pain in Gray’s ass – literally), to getting 4.20 seconds time on a death drop (nice), to somehow winning a death box challenge that it took the creator ages to win ON THE FIRST TRY (he’s GRAYSTILLPLAYS BITCH), to cheesing a nasty set of spike falls by hitting an invisible-barrier-covered win section so hard one of his broken limbs got through the barrier (IT COUNTS DAMNIT), to finally meeting the FNAF animatronics and going “I’m not in here with you, YOU’RE in here with ME” (aka luring the MS Paint characters into the room, wedging himself between them, and then locking the doors). XD Aaaah, good times, good times. . .
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – I got the text for the two longer of the latest Newcrest Adventures update posts sorted, so I just have to do the wrap-up post’s text tomorrow, yay. Got some reblogs for Thursday and Friday I can put up too. . .though I’m starting to run low, so I’ll have to go scouring for some more, or spend some of my vacation time drafting out posts.
So yeah, that's all good, at least. Now I just gotta make it through the next four days and hope everything's okay by the end of it! At least I have pudding. . .anyway, night all!
