Kind of Distracted Night
Sep. 8th, 2021 11:19 pmDunno what happened, but I've been a bit all over the place this evening -- concentration has not been good! I think we can partially blame me looking at that one spreadsheet of Sims 4 mods to check what's broken and what's not with each patch, but. . . *shrug* Here, have a to-do list:
Work – Slightly busier day, what with reviewing a few outstanding items (and correcting one myself because who knows when it’ll be fixed if we leave it up to the credit card people) and taking care of a few reversals and whatnot. Can’t complain too much, made the day go by!
Beanbags – The rain hadn’t moved in yet and it wasn’t too humid this afternoon, so we had another three rounds. Nice equitable day too – me 2-3-W, Dad 3-W-2, Mom W-2-3. :) Might have had the first game if Mom hadn’t beaten me by a point, but hey – I do prefer it when we all get one.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another thirty on the bike, and more time with Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough! After failing to defend Sanctuary from the bugged-out “defend your settlement” quest, Miss Jon headed back to Goodneighbor to pick up Hancock as a companion and continue her crusade against evildoers! I’m guessing that if Hancock’s your companion, you don’t get the funny dialogue with him as the Shroud, since Past!Jon didn’t show that off – though he did stick Hancock in a gas mask to protect his new superhero identity, the Redcoat. XD The pair went up against Smiling Kate and Northy again – Northy apparently had no interesting dialogue, though Smiling Kate was only too happy to tell the Shroud exactly what she thought of her. And then Past!Jon went and killed Shelly Tiller again because 500 caps is 500 caps and apparently “innocent civilian who had a hit put on them” isn’t something he gets. And he shot Hancock for hating it. Rude.
Anyway, they found out Kent was being kidnapped, and swung by Sanctuary one last time so Miss Jon could interview more members for the Legion of Super Best Friends – Cow-Man (literally a Brahmin) and the Invisible Man (guess). She ended up taking Hancock, the power armor (I forget its superhero name, damn!), and the “Invisible Man” to the final fight with Sinjin, where she threatened Sinjin repeatedly with the Shroud, getting his goons to run away in fear – and getting Sinjin to just waste Kent immediately. Cue a reload because Past!Jon DOES have some morals and used a VATS critical to take out Sinjin before Kent could die. And talking with Hancock while Kent was in the room got BOTH of them to give him a pep talk (Miss Jon as the Shroud, naturally) and get him to feel better about things, yay. :) With justice brought to the Commonwealth, the Super Best Friends disbanded, and Past!Jon MOSTLY took down Shroud Tower, though given the way he did it, he ended up leaving the top meeting room area completely suspended above the bridge. *snork* Fitting end to the goofiness, I feel.
And with that we moved onto Episode 25 and back into main plot stuff (as Past!Jon said he would be doing a lot of sidequesting in a stream and then uploading the highlights, which explained what the last video in the playlist was when I looked up this series to check its length – we’re actually about ten episodes from the end now!), as Miss Jon and Hancock headed into the Glowing Sea! Miss Jon in power armor, naturally – Hancock, being a ghoul, has nothing to fear from that place. So far nothing too major has popped up to ruin their days – they killed a Mirelurk King on the way there, and some radscorpions and stingwings in the sea itself. Miss Jon also found an underground tunnel leading to a partially-submerged Red Rocket, but all she got out of that was radscorpion meat and some more duct tape. Should finish up this episode tomorrow – we’ll see when they find Virgil!
2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check – Alice has escaped the killer kitchen and avoided having an elevator dropped on her head. In return, she’s managed to snag the killer’s ax! And while she’d like that to be the END of her adventures in the hotel, the Leader of the Insane Children has reminded her that the “memories” she’s been seeing have been in the shape of a necklace, not a diary. And with the entrance to the upper levels of the hotel now open, it’s time to start looking for the pendant! Once she figures out how to carry her new weapon, after all. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – as usual, this is surprisingly easy thanks to only two videos ever showing up at a time in there. Even had time for a third off the list –
A) Since both James Turner and Plumbella are out of commission due to personal life issues (James trying to travel with his girlfriend to her home area during a big lockdown; Plumbella dealing with Some Stuff like the anniversary of a friend’s death), I find myself once again turning to the English Simmer for Sims content – namely, a look at the Spa Day refresh! She did a pretty thorough run-down – taking us through the new CAS fingernails (squeeing over the pride flag swatches), showing off the new “High Maintenance” trait (which makes Sims irrationally angry every so often, it seems) and the new aspirations (which are kind of mini – only one level, but you have to do things a fair amount of times to fulfill each goal), and had her Sims wear some of the new face masks, had one teach a yoga class, and had another get her nails done. It’s small but sweet additions to the pack, and makes me want to take Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker to the spa this weekend to have a rather more chill celebration of SimCity Founding for a change. :p
B) Then it was over to the Subs for more Call Me Kevin and a look at MineBricks – a texture and sounds pack for Minecraft that turns the world into a bunch of LEGOs! Complete with nice little clicks when you put stuff together. Kevin was completely charmed and proceeded to steal a bunch of materials from a nearby village to construct a house of his own! XD Granite walls (with dirt pillars), a gravel floor in the kitchen for the neat patterns, a cobblestone roof and stove “fan” for the kitchen, some seating in the hallway and the living room. . .sure, it all looked rather weird when he turned the regular textures back on, but in LEGO form? All very sweet. :D If there was anything that could get me into Minecraft, I think it would be this.
C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and another life of strange existential horrors in GTA V! Today’s episode was Gray, um, “training to fight the alien menace” by slaughtering various groups of people with the government claiming, even more poorly each time, that they were aliens. Not that Gray cared when he could use his own machine gun at the tender age of six against a bunch of astronauts. Or a death mobile with a giant bulldozer front. Or a spike-fronted car of evil against a bunch of protesters. Or a helicopter made of money dragging along at least three wind turbines against a bunch of prisoners. Or – you get the idea. XD It ended with Gray, having been granted a robot body, learning that yes, he was slaughtering humans, apparently at the behest of actual aliens – and deciding he’d like to slaughter aliens too in a galaxy-patterned tank. Because if it doesn’t end in death and horror, it ain’t GrayStillPlays! XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just had Victor Luvs Alice tonight, and I adjusted the queue back down to one per day and got a Song Saturday reblog in based on the song I listened to this morning, so that’s good. Was hoping to noodle around with more stuff in my drafts, but it’s been a bad concentration night, as stated, so I’ll take what I can get.
Okay, and now that I've FINALLY caught up on tumblr, it's time to get ready for bed. I have broken down and turned my AC on because it was just too hot in my room. Hopefully this will be a one-time thing this week, but we'll see! Night all!
