crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
I've been looking up mods for both Sims 4 and Fallout 4, messing around on tumblr, and resisting the urge to listen to "Shivers" on loop because I don't want to make myself sick of a song that gives me SUCH Valice feels. (And has a hilarious music video to match.) It hasn't been a good day, or especially a good night, for concentration! Good thing my to-do list was so short:

1. Work some more on the Fallout 4 Sims Challenge: Check! Did this after beanbags – and I think I may have wrestled this into something I’m happy with! The main rules seem to be in a good place, and I’ve set up some optional harder challenges for people who want an experience closer to the game. I haven’t found any way to involve Nuka-World or Far Harbor, but perhaps that’s beyond the scope of a Sims challenge. :p But yeah, I think the rough drafts of both of this and the VTMB challenge are all set! Perhaps I should share them this week for my Sims update? Hmmm. . .

2. Catch up on something from the Watch Later and keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – I wanted to get to my OXBox stuff, but things didn’t work out that way. But I did get a couple of things out of the WL and kept up with the Subs, so. . .

A) Started with the latest upload from Linkara – not a AT4W, but a Late Night Double Feature with Clive Sinclair! Featuring found-footage-style Frankenstein movies! We had The Frankenstein Theory, where a guy who believes himself to be a descendant of the original Frankenstein and that the Creature is still alive takes a film crew to go hunting for it in the Arctic (as you might imagine, the Creature pulls a Blair Witch and quietly kills most of the cast before carrying off the final girl – slow-paced, tense horror, but Clive wasn’t impressed with the final creature design, and felt the second half of the movie was stronger than the first); and Frankenstein’s Army, which shows a small team of Soviet soldiers discovering the lair of Dr. Frankenstein and his dieselpunk cyborg army – or, more accurately, stumbling into Resident Evil: Village’s factory level, because Capcom straight-up STOLE some of their designs from this movie – notably, Propeller Head or whatever his official name is (Clive loved the practical effects and monster designs, but admitted the time period – 1945 – completely cracks the suspension of disbelief regarding the “found footage” aspect and that there’s not much BEYOND the monster stuff). Interesting stuff, and not too gory or horrific for me. Apparently he’s returning in October with American The Ring movies because Linkara axed the original theme (Exorcist prequels) – I think we’ve just learned what Linkara’s theme for his October comics is this year!

B) Then, this evening, I moved onto another video from The English Simmer, this one detailing a mod that’s currently in early access by modder Ravasheen – you know how we got journals in Parenthood? I’ve never used them much, but Ravasheen has made a stand-alone version that looks like a spiral notebook, and allows your Sims to actually write entries (complete with a special icon) that you can then set as specific emotional memories! :D You can even put entries up on the wall as decorations if you like! English Simmer showed this off with Cassandra Goth (angry due to a fight with Bella) and it was really cool. So simple, and yet so satisfying. I went over to Ravasheen’s website to check out their CC afterwards – how is it we have so many cool content creators I’ve never heard of in this community?

C) After supper, we had James Turner and the next episode of the Cottage Living LP! Things remain pretty chaotic on the farm – you know things are bad when their new gift shop has negative Simoleons in it because James forgot to account for paying his employee when he closed the shop with a single Simoleon in the bank. XD And the need for cash is getting more urgent, because as it turns out, Hazel IS pregnant! Yup, that “try for baby” did indeed work, and the next generation of Bigwallets is on the way! Man, how time flies. . .

Anyway, most of the episode was just James scrambling to complete various goals, fighting against glitchiness and general Sims chaos all the while. He was unsuccessful in getting either of the brothers to win a Finchwick Fair (chickens and eggs this time – Chaz’s golden chicken got third place, while we never learned the fate of Trenton’s golden egg at all. People were getting very loud in the comments about what a rotten system this is), but he DID manage to get Trenton to max out his Logic skill (with the help of an observatory) and thus finish the “Nerd Brain” aspiration, allowing him to instant upgrade things to max usefulness! He’s already fixed up the Evil Chickens’ coop, and James has big plans for the rest of the objects on the lot now that this is a thing. :p He also has a bunch of produce to sell (both small and giant), Chaz keeps getting hit by lightning (come on, Chaz, get hypercharged!), and the episode actually ended on the cliffhanger of Hazel about to have the baby! James plans to send her to the hospital next time – we’ll see when that is, and what the next generation of Bigwallet will be!

D) Then it was onto Call Me Kevin and Plague Inc – though he wasn’t trying to spread a disease this time. Nope, Kevin was doing what Kevin does best – starting a cult! TH3 C00L CULT, to be precise. Of vampires! Unfortunately, despite starting with prime real estate in Iceland, the leader of C00L was eventually taken down by the authorities, and the cult dissolved before it could stretch any further than Ireland. Kevin promptly swapped to something he knew better – Jim Pickens taking out humanity! This worked WAY better, with Jim infecting most of the world before turning super-deadly and murdering the entire planet. Just the way he’s always wanted. . .in fact, it was so nice, he did it twice! (AKA, there were two “Jim Pickens” scenarios floating out there and Kevin had to see how both worked.) He also did someone’s custom “Uh-Oh Spaghettios” custom disease/cult, which managed to infect the entire world from a single bad can of spaghetti in Italy, but didn’t actually kill anyone. All in all, a pretty good day if you’re a “friend” of the Dear Leader Jim! For everyone else – nooot so much. XD

E) And finally, of course, we had GrayStillPlays and Make ‘Em – a mobile game involving forcing virtual people to perform certain actions. Not like in Sims, though – you’re given certain points to manipulate on each person, and you have to adjust them so they’re in the right configuration to pass the level. Things like making someone smile, making a couple make out, making a woman pole dance through cut-outs in glass – yes, this was TOTALLY a level in this game. Gray, of course, always did his best to find the limits of the rag dolls, twisting and bending people so badly it’s a wonder that the game didn’t crash. XD Hell, in one level about yanking a chair out from under a guy, he actually DID have to reset because whatever he did to that poor girl shoved the chair out of position the wrong way around. It was weird and baffling and involved many people having their spinal columns deformed. Perfect Gray game, in other words!

3. Play Sims 4 and take Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker on a SimCity Founding spa day: Check! Updated my game, re-enabled my mods, then joined the gang for a trip to the updated Center Of Center Massage spa! I basically just replaced all the massage tables and chairs with their luxury counterparts, added a yoga instructor’s mat so they could have classes on the second floor, changed out one of the mediation stools for one of the new poofs, and added the mini-fridge that lets you buy face masks. Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker were all for luxuriating in the upgraded surroundings – everybody took a swim in the pool (good for not only fitness, but also Water Fun); Chell and Geeker hit the sauna while Wheatley joined in a yoga class; Chell got a foot massage while Wheatley mediated; Chell and Wheatley both tried out some facial masks while Geeker got a lavender aromatherapy massage; and Wheatley had a citrus soak while Chell practiced yoga and Geeker mediated. All very nice. :) And then I sent them home, where Chell and Geeker (both very focused) played a lot of chess; Wheatley had a workout; Chell made them all some lovely chicken on one of the local barbecues; and Geeker set off his fireworks from the Humor and Hijinks festival once it got sufficiently dark out. :D Very good times, though apparently I only got Chell up to “decent holiday” instead of “excellent holiday,” aww. But hey, important thing is she didn’t fail, and now everyone’s in a good mood for day 6 next weekend!

Additionally:

-->Made a bunch of backups right before playing Sims 4, so that’s all good. Been meaning to do that all week!

-->Had the requisite five rounds of beanbags for a nice weekend day (seriously, quite lovely out – warm but not humid) – I got 3-3-2-W-W; Dad got 2-2-W-3-2; and Mom W-W-3-2-3. Not bad at all! Everybody won one, and I got two thanks to some eights just when I needed them. :D

-->Just a life update, but I DID end up getting to take a shower today, simply because my mom and dad ended up smashing apart the old walkway outside our house (a process complicated by the fact that one end was THREE SEPARATE LAYERS of different old walkways), and naturally this is a process that requires one to bathe afterward. Looks like the grout thing will be happening next weekend. *grumbles a bit* Well, at least I didn’t have to skip getting clean!

So yeah, not a bad Saturday by any stretch of the imagination! I'm even getting a bit of RP done on Valice Multiverse. Now if only I could stop running off into my own head every five seconds. . . :p

Okay. Let's start by getting tomorrow's to-do list sorted:

1. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again"

2. Watch at least two OXBox videos from the Watch Later, keep up on YouTube Subs, and watch Jon's FO4 YOLO video

3. Play Bloodlines and open up Hollywood

4. Get in a workout

5. Get more done with tumblr queues

Bit busier, but I think I should be able to manage it all. Maybe queuing up "Shivers" for Song Saturday will help loosen its hold on me a bit. . . Night all!
