crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
The day that appears in all three movies of the trilogy, aka the day you ABSOLUTELY MUST get 10:04 on. And look at me, I did it, yay. :) Wore some of my BTTF socks too -- gotta show my Backie solidarity somehow! I may be largely in other fandoms now, but BTTF will always have a corner of my heart. :)

Unfortunately, while it is a lovely Backie Friday, it was also a rainy one -- and, personally, for me, a tired one. Mostly because I went to bed late, and found I couldn't sleep in my preferred position because, well, I'd gotten a shot in each arm, and both were a little sore (COVID more than flu, but obviously flu hurt a bit if I leaned on it). And then I woke up early, after about four hours of sleep (needed the bathroom), and it took me a while to get BACK to sleep thanks to that same issue, coupled with it being kinda warm today and thus I was hot under my covers. I did eventually get a little more sleep, but I don't know if it was any more than an hour or what. >.< I've felt kinda tired all day, so I know it wasn't as much as I wanted! Good thing I had the day off and could spend some time just binging a bit of TV Tropes. . .did still manage to take care of the to-do list, though!

1. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check – with Vandal taken care of, Alice and Lily have walked down to the beach, where Lily is having a very emotional reunion with E. :) And Alice gets to assure Copper that, no, trying to starve yourself is definitely not the right option when it comes to trying to turn yourself back human. Oh Copper. . .you’re lucky I find it too mean to do your “fleece the newbie and possibly get him killed” mini-quest! (Maybe one day if I ever decide to do a low-Humanity run with a character. . .)

2. Keep up on YouTube Subs, see if I can fit in an OXventure: Check! I even fit in some bonus cuteness, you’ll all be glad to hear –

A) Actually started the day off with a couple of cute puppy videos, of someone who rescued some puppies from abandonment near a road and introduced them to their own Golden Retriever. Very cute, and a good way to start the day. :)

B) Then, this afternoon, in between Bloodlines and the workout, we did indeed have an Oxventure – “An Orcward Encounter,” another one of the live shows! This is the one that has Alfred Strangertide in it, who was SUPPOSED to be an archaeologist guy with all the lore (and granted, he did still provide lore), but – thanks to the gang putting him in a papoose on Dob to help keep him out of the way while adventuring – kind of turned into their adopted son. XD Or perhaps “unwanted stepchild” is more accurate, as they started the adventure promising him 30% of the profits, and went down to two gold coins at the end after all everything they’d faced. The adventure itself was getting “The Chalice of Everything You Ever Wanted” out of a crypt, and involved such puzzles as jamming an ax into the side of a statue (to “avenge” the skeleton carved on the door); navigating a corridor full of tripwires (the suggestion to have Merilwen change into cat form to navigate the wires safely backfired when her tail caught one – fortunately both Dob and Egbert rolled crits and were able to save Merilwen and Prudence from falling down a pit or being too badly pierced by arrows, and Corazon got to do some awesome parkour along the walls playing a hurdy-gurdy); figuring out the right code-word to spell on a floor full of letters (Merilwen got a redeeming cool moment by shooting a flaming arrow (provided by Egbert) across the room to light a bunch of sconces, then sacrificed her bedroll to see what happens when you hit the wrong letter – sharp slicing things is what; Egbert just barely avoided being cut off at the knees when he chose the wrong letter at their initial attempt; Prudence showed them all up with a glorious ballet across the right word once Strangertide had sung his song enough times to show it was ‘unworthy’ (the name of a dwarf who famously died horribly in a battle)); and a final boss fight triggered by Dob picking up the chalice, and the evil force possessing it doing a scan and creating an evil Dob for them all to fight (hilariously, they asked him to pick it up because he’s nearly unkillable). And yes, evil Dob did use Thunderwave on everybody once he got a chance, and he actually managed to knock Egbert unconscious – but then again, Egbert had just RUN OVER AND FORCEFED HIM A BOMB, SO – Also, Prudence decided to try and speak with him to see if she could parley (being as he’s an infernal being) and ended up trying to hit on Evil Dob – so poorly that it screwed up her initial Eldritch Blast! Fortunately she did much better on her second go, and Evil Dob exploded, regretting that he hadn’t taken her up on the date. XD They naturally left the cup behind, though, simply taking the gold that plopped down from the ceiling. These campaigns are just so much fun. :)

C) And then, this evening, we had our Subs – first up, Fun With Shorts – “Making Yourself Understood,” Part 2! The other half of the short about effective communication, showcasing such things as “saying someone is a friend to labor might make one guy who’s had trouble with unions get angry, while another who got money from helping some sort of labor enterprise will cheer” and “faux-teenage boys are very annoying.” XD As usual, Josh had the good riffs – and hey, I learned what a “community chest” is from the short, so it’s got that going for it! (Given the guy described it as a way to help those in the community who couldn’t work for whatever reason, sounds like something we should bring back today? In places other than Monopoly?)

D) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin for more Minecraft Two Chunk Challenge! In which Kevin, in an attempt to clear out the monsters living in the boats around the border of his chunk, ended up causing a massive forest fire and destroying most of the scenery around his chunk. He even had to chop down his mushroom, lest it be burnt away and he have no hope of harvesting anything from it to regrow it! I mean, it DID clear out the monsters. . .sort of. . . XD After that madness, he decided that the best thing to do for the moment would be to go back to the Nether and fight some Blazes, as Blaze Powder from the stronghold is the only thing he’s currently allowed to take and use from outside his spawn chunk in the Nether (he changed the rules a bit between last episode and this one). It was a perilous journey, fraught with fireballs and terrible Nether Skeletons draining away his health in seconds (and even successfully killing him once), but with a combination of hasty barrier building, desperate running away, and the occasional burst of bravery, he got enough rods to produce ten Blaze Powder and bolted for the safety of his beloved two chunks again. Which – is looking a little less nice now, thanks to all the fire, but what can you do, eh? XD Oh man, this is such a fun series – I’m glad Kevin thinks so too and updates it so often!

E) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and Happy Wheels! We started with a bottle flip, which contained both the Dorito of Glory, and a “Mickey Dees” section that would randomly send your character, if not hurtling into the void, then slowly slipping down into it, being smacked in the face by the bouncy platform all the while. XD On the plus side, though, he DID get the Dorito of Glory – plus double Maximum Penetratus and double God of Holes! :D He also successfully escaped a few boxes (once as the dad through a pane of glass, once as Pogo-Man through a secret passage in the wall); sent Bicycle Dad to fight other Dads in dad-to-dad combat (naturally, Tom Hardy had to take some weapons in the forehead to save his old man’s skin); pedaled like mad to make it across a jet run (into the comforting stomach of some fat lady at the end); killed a bunch of agents to infiltrate their base and steal their gold (one hobo with an inconveniently long spear turned out to be his toughest opponent); fought his way through a rope swing with three ends (would you believe swinging on the SPIKED PLATFORM into a coin was actually the easiest way to win? As opposed to getting thrown so hard into a “stop” rope he got stuck halfway inside it); braved a harpoon run that turned into a spike fall (turns out the way to win that one was to ignore the advice to let go of your bike); hung onto a helicopter for dear life – until he realized that the only way to win was to let go at JUST the right moment (and it had to be PRECISE); and played a round of “Red Light Green Light” from Squid Game (overseen by the faceless balding sister of the regular Squid Game girl). You know, all the usual. XD

3. Play Bloodlines and clear more sidequests: Check, though I actually ended up doing more main plot stuff than sidequests. You see, one of my goals for today was to try and clear out as much of the “Poster Session” quest as possible to get rid of some of the stuff clunking up my inventory. I’d looked up where to get the video tape I needed – the trunk in Carson’s apartment – so after redoing Kamikaze Zen – with less fail thanks to my improved Auspex getting my Hacking feat JUST high enough to complete the quest, and getting the nameplate and the money from the vault – I took the cab down there to retrieve it –

Only to find the trunk needed a Lockpicking feat of 8 to open. And while my new antique locket was boosting my Security skill, that only got me up to 7. AND, because the place was an Elysium, I couldn’t Bloodbuff my way through it. Which meant I needed to level up, and THAT mean Zhao. So I had Crystal swing by Mercurio’s to pick up some ammo for her Colt Anaconda, then return to Chinatown to do Zhao’s mini-quest – namely, talk to him to get the password to club Glaze so I could meet with Johnny about Barbarus, then survive the ambush.

EASIER SAID THAN DONE. I had to go through the conversation with Zhao a few times before I finally wised up enough to quick-save AFTER it, and even then it took me a couple more tries to kill the damn invading Tong. Couldn’t keep Zhao himself alive either, though Crystal as I play her probably doesn’t care a whole bunch about that. I know bullets are supposed to be less of a problem for vampires, but those Mac Ingrams tear through your health quick, especially when fired en-masse! *shakehead*

Anyway – got through that, then went to see Johnny, killed him with some nice easy Blood Theft in front of the Mandarin, then to my shock and delight, managed to sneak out despite TWO enemies basically looking straight at Crystal. XD Pressing yourself into a dark corner in a dark coat really works! After that was sorted, I used my new XP to level up my Security a bit more, then headed back to Santa Monica, got the tape, then went back Downtown and dumped it in the mailbox to get the Ming-Xiao poster. I also got Damsel, Imalia, and Tawni before Gary asked for something that I don’t have yet – a SQUASHED Odious Chalice, which I can only get by going through the Fu Syndicate and doing more plot. *nods* Next time!

4. Work on tumblr queues as necessary: Check – didn’t do anything on Victor Luvs Alice, but there ended up being four thread replies and two ask replies over on Valice Multiverse, soooo. . . Very set there!

5. Get in a workout: Check – another thirty on the bike, another thirtyish with L.A. By Night, “Happy Families!” Victor has finished his interrogation of Isaiah and asked him to hang out in his office with Annabelle and X while he checked out the rest of the club, which Isaiah was happy enough to do, because, weird night. X attempted to get Isaiah to fall asleep a little quicker, but wasn’t able to overcome the guy’s will, while Annabelle urged him to rethink some of his life choices and said that anything shady Victor does is probably to keep his sons safe. Isaiah asked her to pass on a message to Mark – basically, he’s sorry – and if she could give him an update on his brother once he was safely in Vancouver, which she promised to do. And then X got them out of the room by claiming they were gonna do sex stuff, because he’s X. *shakehead*

Meanwhile, Victor and Nelli were checking the club for whoever was left, and Nelli used her Auspex to spot that the Nosferatu Annabelle was fighting before was still around. Fortunately, he was back in “I just wanna talk” mode, and expanded on a few of the things that Isaiah said before – namely, Bobby is someone Victor apparently screwed over ages ago, and now that he’s a vampire himself, he’s basically just going through his list of everyone who wronged him to get revenge. Victor was just next on the list. He’s also working with Federal vampire hunters, which of course is VERY bad news. Victor decided the best thing in this instance, as the Nosferatu – Nick – clearly didn’t run when he had the chance, was to get his new little informant on HIS payroll officially – use him as a spy, and backup muscle if necessary. Nick wasn’t crazy about the idea – his preferred outcome would be to show them where Bobby was and then hit the road – but as Victor pointed out, he has no great choices in this game. If Bobby finds out he told Victor anything, he’s dead; and if any other vampires find he worked with vampire hunters, even unwillingly under his coeterie leader, he is also dead. Victor at least is willing to give him a paycheck and a safe place to stay for the night, with only a few death threats. Nick reluctantly took the deal, and Victor sent him down to the basement to rest (warning him about the possibility of Ramona being down there and not to drink her rats). I left off with Baron Isaac and Ib reappearing from outside – we’ll wrap up this episode next time!

*nods* All very good. And I'm currently doing some light RP stuff with two of my tumblr friends, so let me wrap up with tomorrow's to-dos and call it a night for now:

1. Clean my room

2. Watch the latest AT4W and keep up with YouTube Subs

3. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again"

4. Play Sims 4 and see if I can finish up my house build

5. OPTIONAL: Get in a workout

Yeah, I don't NORMALLY work out on room-clean days, but I might do so tomorrow just to finish up "Happy Families." We shall see, though. Night all!
