Late Because Period Thursday
Nov. 18th, 2021 11:41 pmYeah, guess what showed up RIGHT before I went to bed last night? Fortunately I didn't stain my clothes or anything, but bleeeeh. Left me feeling not my best all day today, that's for damn sure. At least it was warm so I was justified in eating chocolate ice cream. . .anyway, I'm running behind here, so let me yeet a to-do list at you:
Work – Eh – the credit card problem from yesterday seems to be resolved (after some back and forth, and they’re still trying to figure out how it happened in the first place), but thanks to being on my period, I felt sluggish and grouchy, so – can’t say it was great. But it wasn’t horrible either, especially since the commute was better today. We’ll see what tomorrow brings!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: No check – I couldn’t get up the energy to head down into the basement. Again, first day of being on the rag, kind of expected. And it sets me up to take Thanksgiving off, so hey, I’ll roll with it. :p
2. Write some more on “Learn To Love Again”: Check – finished off Chapter 6 with a quick scene of Victor reporting his findings to Alice in Wonderland (she’s as shocked as he is about how efficient he was in learning what was going on, what’s up with her family, and how to reunite them), and agreeing that yes, they’ll all meet in Oxford in maybe a week’s time. Good, sweet way to end the chapter. Dunno when I’ll get to the next one, between posting the next chapter of “Londerland Bloodlines” and working on gift fic this upcoming holiday season, but as this story’s right now just for me, I’m not gonna sweat it.
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – only Kevin over there today, thanks to it being “Members Only” day for Gray and James not being as back as anyone thought he was. Fortunately I had some videos in the Watch Later to fall back on –
A) Started with the latest AT4W – “The X-Men #4” and the first appearance of The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver! (Because, you know, Wandavision was a thing – the Vision episode sadly had to be cut this year because of his schedule slip, though.) It was a pretty enjoyable romp – the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants steals a freighter/destroyer and takes over the Republic of Santo Marco, and the X-Men go in to stop them. Along the way, we learn that the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are with Magneto because Magneto saved Wanda’s life from some superstitious villagers, and Pietro goes where his sister goes. However, they’re not on-board with Magnet’s more genocidal impulses, and when he leaves a nuclear bomb to destroy the whole republic just to get rid of the X-Men when they flee, Quicksilver speeds back to disarm it. There’s some good action (like Angel getting Quicksilver to accidentally run himself into a wall), and some good comedy (Linkara did ALL the jokes about the Scarlet Witch pointing at people and making disasters occur, which I guess was the shorthand for her reality manipulation back in the day). A good breather episode after all the plot of the last one!
B) Then it was into a Plumbella video with her talking about how weird things feel in the Sims franchise lately, complete with a PowerPoint covering the history of the franchise so far (did you know that Sims 4 had EIGHTEEN stuff packs? And, in the space of about a year, NINE kits?!). She’s basically just kind of annoyed that we keep getting kit after kit after kit now, instead of packs with more heft, and she’s wondering what the heck is going on. You and me both, Jesse. All I know is that I’m slowly but surely turning toward mods to improve MY gameplay experience. If I can ever finish my house build, that is. XD
C) And then we finally went into the Subs to watch Call Me Kevin and another round with The GTA Trilogy – Definitive Edition, in particular the remastered Vice City! Again, everyone in the game looks like some weird terrifying Plasticine creature, and we have our fair share of glitches, but Kevin was clearly having loads of fun tooling around Florida on mopeds that could climb walls, damaging vehicles to use as improvised car bombs against his assassination targets (when he wasn’t following them slowly to see just how far they’d go – to the point where one guy made it all the way to the police and made him fail a mission), starting prison riots and turning one particular guard into a police brutality MACHINE (he was literally yanking EVERYONE out of their cars to beat on them for a short while before moving onto the next), answering phone calls in the ocean before hanging up specifically to drown, doing a RC Copter mission that sounds like it was somewhat easier than it was in the past, and eventually giving it all up to become a pizza delivery man after accidentally killing the guy in the shop with a chainsaw. XD Honestly, just another day for Kevin in the world of GTA!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – only had to worry about Valice Multiverse, which was three ask replies and a thread reply. Not sure how well I did with my period brain, but I did my best!
Not too shabby for first-day-of-period brain. Now I just have to get through work tomorrow. . .night all!
