crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
We're still dealing with that damn "one corner of my parents' bedroom is super cold and keeps developing little wet spots all of a sudden" issue (Dad's been adding tons of insulation to the attic this week in an attempt to combat it), but other than that, can't complain about how the day has gone. As evidenced by my to-do list:

1. Work on final edits for Chapter 2 of “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Got through Alice getting Dennis and company’s location from Mercurio; listening to the cops’ conversation in the parking garage about the murder (and how it’s only the SECOND-worst thing one of them has seen, given he came across what might have been a particularly gruesome werewolf or Gangrel murder); met Rosa and gotten further directions from her to Dennis’s; and then attempted to cut the lights and take out everyone stealthily, only to be made by their pet dog and forced to kill everyone except the very first guy whom she knocked out and sucked the blood of. On the plus side, she DOES have Mercurio’s money and the Astrolite again – and I was able to work in a few references to the Darkened Looking Glass invisibility power-up of American McGee’s Alice, as I realized the other day writing with Squid that she SHOULD compare Obfuscate to that and was annoyed at myself for only thinking of it now. Fortunately I have corrected the mistake, mostly with Alice thinking that the level of Obfuscate she currently has isn’t quite as useful as that power-up. Don’t worry, Alice – you keep practicing, and soon it’ll be just like picking up one of those mirrors! (Also, note to self – have her compare Celerity to being on Grasshopper Tea. Hey, I’ve already got her version of Auspex working like Shrink Sense. . .)

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and get at least the Plumbella video out of my Watch Later: Check to the max! Ended up watching rather more than just that, in fact –

A) Actually had a James Turner video today – turns out he hasn’t been feeling well on top of the move, so he’s been trying to take it easy. But he felt good enough to record a building video, so that’s what he did! Just started with a box and made it into a house! Very modern build with a sort of faux-duplex front (two front bit with a joining section that served as a big old hallway) – one side was kitchen/dining and living space, while the other was bedrooms and bathrooms (one master with an en suite at the front of the house, then the family bathroom, two kids’ rooms, and a spare bedroom that overlooks the pool area). It was very nice and put me in a good mood for my own building. :)

B) Then, after my own Simming below, I caught up with the Red Plumbob’s latest comparison – Sims 3 vs Sims 4 chickens! And trust me, Sims 4 definitely wins – not only are chickens more fleshed out and have more interactions (they’re strictly tied to the coop in Sims 3), the baby chicks look like, well, chicks in Sims 4 and not TERRIFYING PHOTOSHOP CREATIONS like in Sims 3. Seriously, they are soulless, weirdly-animated things straight out of a creepypasta in that generation. O.o Though I did learn that “Charles the Chicken” wasn’t a name chosen at random by Maxis when they did the pop-up for evil chickens in Sims 4 – he was actually an NPC linked to the coop Sims could fight in Sims 3! Though he was white with glowing yellow eyes. . .making me wonder if golden chickens could trace their ancestry back to him too. Light meat and dark meat and all that. XD

C) And after that was Plumbella and “trying the 'Perfectly Well Rounded' scenario before it's removed (again)!” Yes, she continues to play scenarios so we don’t have to, and today was the scenario that is probably best described as “Super Sim Mini.” Well, the beginning of it – as the scenario involves a Sim who completes an aspiration, maxes three skills, and makes five friends, it’s kind of hard for her to complete in a ten-minute video! But she made a good start, downloading a Harry Styles sim in his pretty dress to complete the Musical Genius aspiration (after resetting all his skills to level 1 to actually NOT cheat for a change) in a log-cabin-inspired house in Willow Creek. He’s doing all right – he’s getting up there on his singing and piano skills, and while he doesn’t have any true friends yet, he’s got a regular group of people to hang out with. He even won a karaoke contest with his buddy Travis Scott! And he’s completed one of the four milestones of Musical Genius so far. I just hope Plumbella doesn’t rip her hair out when it comes to fulfilling the song-writing goal later on. . .

D) Then, this evening, I ended up watching another older Anna Rudolf video because it claimed the community and Kevin kept trolling her – apparently she’s very easy to trick with a RickRoll, and both her fans and Kevin loved to poke fun at her for it. XD But actually, the video was super wholesome – it was her going through her subreddit, looking at adorable pieces of fan art, listening to a chess song someone made for her, and squeeing over a lot of stuff of her and Kevin – and damn, they have a lot of cute fan art and videos together. It’s really sweet – they’re such a cute couple! I don’t usually watch her because I’m not really a chess person, but she seems really nice (and talented – Kevin told us that she spoke Spanish a lot better than he did, and she demonstrated that aptly in the video), and I think they’re adorable together. And it seems a lot of other people do too. :D

E) Over in the Subs, on Call Me Kevin himself – he was trying to play Pokemon with only Metapods. Yes, slightly less heartwarming here. XD Basically, he took his team of Caterpies from the last PokeChallenge and let them evolve into an even MORE useless form. XD Well, sort of – hilariously, his new team of Metapods actually knew stuff like “Tackle” and “String Shot,” but NOT “Harden!” Turns out they only learn that automatically if your Caterpie evolves at Level 7, and all of them were much higher. Cue Kevin chucking Caterpie Five out of the team to grab a new one that he let evolve early so he could have the iconic move. XD And then new Caterpie “Backup” became the star of the show just because he DID have that ability, and thus was the only Metapod who could raise his defense! Not that it stopped him from dying along with his brethren five million times, but he tended to last longer than the others because of it. XD Poor Kevin had to grind SO many levels for them all to have a chance against his rival Bad Guy (who has a Charmander and thus an ADVANTAGE against Bug types – what you get for picking a Bulbasaur at first, Kevin!) and Leader Misty of the Water-type gym (and even then, he probably only won because of Super Potions and his Metapod scoring some critical hits). But beat them he did, and now he has a crack team of high-level Metapods! . . .for the sake of his sanity, I hope he puts the game down for a while. XD

F) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and Police Stories – yes, more shitty mobile games for our pleasure! This one all about being the world’s worst police officer! We started with a hostage station (the result of the hostage playing a prank on the other guy and refusing to apologize) where our options were either let the hostage be yeeted off the building or tase the gunman in the balls and went from there! Gray ruined lives at a UFO landing (tasing an alien mech in the crotch), in the cemetery (getting spooked by and then beating up a guy dressed as a zombie), in the construction zone (using a crane to drop a bulldozer run by a guy furious over getting fired in The Pit), in the bank being robbed (sneaking around and chasing the robber – only to trick him by picking up some money before BEANING HIM WITH IT), and even in the pool (chasing a guy who urinated in the pool up the diving board before yeeting them both into the contaminated water). Basically, this is a game made of stupidity and bad decisions – the perfect Gray title, in other words! XD

3. Play Sims 4 and finish up the house build: Check! I have officially finished my house build (which I have called, simply, “A Turret House”). Completed the upstairs landing today (ended up making the “parents’ side” a sort of mini-art studio with an easel and paintings and whatnot), then changed out all the lights to the ones I’d chosen for the living room and kitchen, figured out how to best fence in the backyard, added a little basketball court for the kids, threw in a few trees, some wildflowers, and a shrub, and drew in some pathways. And made sure my sinks hadn’t been deleted again because the game loves deleting my sinks. >.< Showed it off to my parents, who were duly impressed – I hope the people on the Gallery like it too! It’s a two-bedroom, four-bathroom house with a pool and a greenhouse in the back, uses pretty much every pack I own, and is worth about $135,725 in-game. Origin ID is AliceNVictor, and I have pictures which will be going up on my tumblr this week! :)

4. Get in a workout: Check – another thirty on the bike today, and another episode of The Spiffing Brit! This was an older one checking out the very first exploit he was able to find in Game Dev Tycoon – namely, you make games until you level up a bit and are able to accept contract work, get a contract, fulfill that contract, and then use an autoclicker to click on the “contract successful” message in the corner when it pops up, preventing it from fading away too quickly. If you do it right, you can force the game to register the contract completed dozens of times, thus getting you loads and loads of money from doing things like setting up a database system for a library, or making logos for other devs. Spiffing barely did any games with his player character version of Todd Howard – though he did make “RiseIn,” the alternate universe version of Fallout, and of course a version of Skyrim once he got the chance. XD But nothing ever paid as well as his click-clicky exploit. Fun times – this is the sort of content from him that I like best, just playfully breaking a game. XD

Additionally:

-->My aunt came by today, and dropped off some old clothes for me to try – got a couple of nice sweaters out of it, though a bunch of the other stuff was either a bit too small or too complicated to work with (I hate dresses where the lining is ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE a separate piece. . .) – or just had design elements I didn't like (WHO PUTS THE BUTTONS ON THE BACK OF A SWEATER). But hey, at least I have a couple of new things to wear for next week!

Not bad at all, huh? :) Needed a day like today after last week. And as I'm busy doing a bit of chatting and RP-stuffs, let me just set up tomorrow's to-dos and get back to it:

1. Work on final edits for Chapter 2 of “Londerland Bloodlines”

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, watch at least some of the OXBox/OXtra in the Watch Later, and watch Jon's FO4 YOLO episode

3. Play either Bloodlines and get through the Fu Syndicate, or Fallout 4 and finish cleaning out Sanctuary

4. Get in a workout

5. Work on tumblr queues

I imagine this is at least mostly doable! :) And hey, I've got a long weekend coming up to catch up on anything I miss. Night all!
